The service was very good. The clerk was very helpful asking what type of beer I preferred and offering suggestions. The selection of beer wasn't bad at all. He said they will be ordering more varieties of beer and even asked what I would like them to order.
The clerk mentioned they are trying to pick up customers from Inari Wines, which recently just closed shop for good. If you are interested in craft beer, stop by and offer some good suggestions for them to order.
They carry a variety of Sierra Nevada, Stone IPA, Samuel Smith, and Rogue just to name a few. I asked about Ballast Point Sculpin but apparently they currently can't get this one from their distributor. I also asked for 21st Amendment's Brew Free or Die, which I recently became a fan of, he said they can get it and they are going to order some. Excellent! (Party on Wayne, party on Garth)...

I've been living in Bristol my whole life and somehow never knew that George & Sid's carried craft beer. Just blew my mind.

The selection isn't mindblowing, but there are some very welcome surprises. This is the only location I've seen as of this review that carries Southern Tier in this area. Right now, they've only got Phin & Matt's, Old Man, and the basic IPA, but it's a great start and I hope to convince them to get the high-grav gems in.

They've got solid imports, ranging from Samuel Smith, Spaten, and Weihenstephaner to Unibroue, Rochefort and Westmalle. They also sell several American staples like Rogue and Flying Dog (including the Gonzo porter).

The staff is very down to earth, friendly, and helpful. They're not savants but they've at least tried all their beers.

The prices are some of the best I know of around here. Optimator is $8.69 and Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout is $10-11.

Inari has a much wider selection but this place has good staples for good prices. I'll be back again and again.

This place had a little of everything. There was not as many beers here as other places but they did have some pretty hard to find beers. There were about equal numbers of beers on shelves as in coolers. I ended up getting two sixers of Bigfoot Barleywine. I would go back here again. The staff was freindly. They were willing to assit us in our search for Bristol race tickets. I also saw a vending machine that had scratch-off lottery tickets in it. If you are going north from Bristol Motor Speedway cross State Street and this place is about a half mile on the right. Overall, a decent store.

George & Sid's is located in Bristol, VA. I stopped in not expecting much since I had found the place via a Yahoo search.

When you walk in it looks like a cigarette and beer store with a few grocery items. I went to the back ignoring the cashier and began to look at the beer selections. When he saw I was overlooking the BMC selections he told me that all the imported beer was 10%, and there was also a sign that indicated that.

G&S has cold beers and warm beers. A case of Franzikaner was tempting at 10% off, but I went for another selection. They do not have a wide selection, but they do have decent quality and quite a few brands. Not much above 6%, but a few offerings kept it interesting.

As I was leaving I wanted to know if there were a particular store in town and the clerk gave me directions including the exit off the interstate that were spot on. Ok selection, good service, good directions, I would drop back into G&S if I find myself in the area again.
