Taste: Smooth and crisp, some hops and mellow malts, notes of corn tortilla. Mild corn grain and hop nose. Straw color, somewhat unfiltered, with a white head of delicate lace. Lite body. I would rate it higher if if liked the style. 17 IBUs

On tap into a pint glass
A - Clear golden in color with a moderately thin white head that dissipates moderately quickly. Moderate carbonation but nothing over the top. 4/5
S - White bread, light malt, grassy hops, and a butteriness. Maybe some biscuit as well. 3.75/5
T - Taste follows the nose very closely. Light caramel sweetness and maybe a little corn. Very little bitterness. Flavor does not linger at all. 3.75/5
M - Not crazily carbonated. Almost creamy. Smooth. Disappears rather quickly from the palate. 3.75/5
O - Good helles offering that is especially good following a 6 mile run. Not complicated, just straight and simple. 3.75/5

Appearance: Crystal clear yellow with decent carbonation and good foam.
Smell: Fresh lemon and more than a hint of pine. Very wintery for a light lager.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Tastes similar to the smell. Great combination of lemon and pine. Mouthfeel starts rather clean, but leaves a sticky residue in the finish.
Overall: A pretty good light lager. Hits the right flavors of a pilsner, but the slightly malty mouthfeel feels like a pale lager.

On tap at Emmett's Downers Grove
A: Dark golden color, not quite amber, but richer than the macro fizzy water. No head.
S: No aroma that I could detect
T: My expectations were VERY low on this one and I was very surprised that for this type, had lots of flavor. Gentle malt, no hoppiness but that was fine for me.
M: Average. Not watery.
D: Definitely could pound down a growler on a hot summer day.
Would recommend this for those macro drinkers who generally won't try craft brews and need that light beer substitute when visiting Emmetts.

(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer had a thin film of white foam that faded to a ring quickly. The body was a pale yellow with a gentle carbonation of tiny bubbles.
S- The smell of noble bitter hops was strong with a dry sulfur note.
T- This beer has a big field corn note that has notes of pale malt and sulfur with a bitter noble hops flavor blended with a dry carbonic acid bite in the finish.
M- This beer had a medium-light mouthfeel
D- This might be an Imperial adjunct lager. There was a big noble hop bitterness with a big sulfur bite and a big corn note. It had all the flavors I don't care for in BMC but they were crisper and bigger than most.

Pours a light golden straw with a white head that is not very persistant. Strong beading does not provide a cap. Light body lower bitterness but very crisp and clean and much more flavor and hops than most macro brews. The high CO2 level teams with a citrus acidic flavor and makes this pair well with heavy foods as well a good candidate for a session.
