A full-bodied dark mahogany beer, with a rich malty texture. It is sparsely hopped, in the traditional Munich style.

Color is fairly dark brown with amber highlights to it. Aroma is decent, roasty malts with hints of chocolate, and a faint noble hop note to it. Mildly malty sweetness forward with a nice roasted flavor to it, some faint hints of chocolate and bitterness to it and a mild lager flavor on the back-end with a moderately bitter grassy/ herbal noble hop finish that cuts any lingering sweetness and leave a fairly clean finish. Medium/ light bodied, a bit lighter then I would have expected with an average amount of carbonation to it.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a nearly opaque dark with no head and no lace. The scent had nice chocolate malt tones. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good subtle chocolate presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent offering.

On-tap at Crescent City Brewhouse, New Orleans, LA
A: The beer is crystal clear dark mahogany amber in color (brown when viewed from afar). It poured with a finger high beige colored head that settled down, leaving a thin head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts and malt extracts are present in the nose.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has flavors of malt extracts, although there are just enough noble hops to mask any sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is rather malty, but isn’t heavy on the palate and isn’t sweet. It’s not bad for a hot day in New Orleans.
Serving type: on-tap

Well maybe it was the fact that I could drink this while walking around the French Quarter that makes me give it such a good review. In any event, even in a plastic cup, it looked great with a nice head and good lacing. It smelled great, a nice earthy chocolate aroma. Tasted very good, nice and malty with a rich feeling. Anyway, I like it and had a last drinking it along Bourbon Street.

Pours a deep dark muddy brown with an ample tan head that lingers.
Mild hop punch, slightly medicinal and herbal. Smells of sour yeast and roasted malt.
Taste is roasted malt - chocolate, coffee - with a slight spicy note of rye, a slightly bitter hop herbal hit. This is a solid beer, but nothing stands out.
