The brewpub is quite inviting and seems a lot cleaner than many places near by. I heard about this place from some colleagues and was really looking forward trying some highly praised german-style brews. The first day I had only time for a quick beer and after they refused serving a sampler on the balcony, I ordered a Weissbeer.
The Weissbeer was served in an appropriate glass, had a perfect head and although the banana was slightly too strong, left me very excited and wishing for more. A colleague picked up the tap and I was planning to spend the next evening at the Crescent City Brewhouse for more and a more detailed beer tasting. The next day the pub was closed for a private party and I had to wait for another day.
The menu had no vegetarian options but a green salad for $9 or a baked brie also for $9. I ordered a sampler and got 4 beers. They had run out of the special brew. I would rate the beer quality from very good beginning with the Weiss beer over Black Forest, Red Stallion to below average on the Pilsner. I ended up drinking 4 half liters plus the sampler and was very surprised that I had run the tap up to $46.50. I double checked the receipt and each of the beers had been $7.50.
Nice location to get a break from Bourbon Street Oompah and supposedly authentic food serving tourist traps, but not a place for vegetarians and certainly not for beerlovers on a budget.
