Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, light yellow body with a small, fizzy, white head.

Smell: No discernible hops or malt character. Instead you're treated to jarring butter aroma. A very ill-boding scent, I must say.

Taste: Faint light pale maltiness with a touch of sweetness and grainy astringency. Throughout it all there's a strong, grody unsalted butter taste. Sharp enough to possibly be pediococcus derived. Faint bitterness. Fi--ah, screw it. Down the drain with this thing.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: A beer to definitely steer clear of. A very poor product showing a contemptible lack of quality control.

I had some friends try this one at a beverage convention. They said it was by far one of the best beers they had ever had, so they decided to order a case of it, and I tried it with them. They were very dissapointed, I wasn't so much as to know what to expect out of Hueberts products. If only they could get a better handle on quality control.

There is a pale golden yellow/straw coloring to it. Light passes through easily. There is no cloudiness to it. You can watch as carbonation bubbles flow up through the beer as the develop into columns. When poured I received a quarter inch thick head that quickly dissipated into a film on the top of the glass. There is some lacing, but not a lot.

The smell is an interesting combination of floral hops, a wine-like grape scent and something that gave it the smell of melted butter. The scent reminded me of melted butter used for baking cookies. The taste was of a mild spicy hop. There is a ginger like flavor to it. Maybe it was the melted butter scent, but it reminded me of ginger snaps. It's not a bad taste, just kind of interesting. It's unlike anything I've had in a beer in the past. Just like the label suggests there is a dry finish to it. The aftertaste is interesting and difficult to describe, but it's not bad.

IT is a light bodied beer with a heavier than average carbonation to it. The carbonation bites on the tongue, but doesn't make it hard to drink. Honestly this is a very smooth beer that is easy to drink and goes down easy.

Pours a very clear, highly carbonated light straw color. Small yet respectable head that settles to a very fine ring that clings to the edge of the glass. Smell is predominately of spicey noble hops that is backed up by a light graininess and a weird but not offensive oily smell. Mouth feel is well carbonated, light, and crisp. Taste is initially hidden, upon swallowing the hops, which seem like they could be a little fuller, come into play. That weird oily smell is transfered into a more subtle version. Despite that weird oily thing I was pleasantly surprised as I had low expectations for an African inspired beer.
