This was the first Black Diamond beer that I had been exposed to. This hefe is semi-cloudy (hazy) straw color with a moderate head that fades a bit fast for a hefeweisen. The nose is citrus with a hint of cloves. The taste is of citrus (a bit much), light wheat, cloves and a bit watery. The mouthfeel is light, too light for this style. It could use more body. This style is more towards an American hefeweisen and not a Bavarian hefeweisen.

On tap at Dixon's, South Lake Tahoe.
Presented hazy, almost cloudy and pale gold, with a white, frothy head.
Subdued Bavarian character in the nose, with a citric accent.
Light bodied and approachable.
Shy German character on the pallet, leaning almost towords an American Hef.
Mild esters, bannana, and clove.
Finishes quick, with a snap of tart.
Quaffable and clean, could drink several, ice cold on a summer day.
Not a particularly good example of the style, though.
