Excellent. This is a near perfect middle of the road AIPA. It would be over the top for other styles, but as an AIPA, it's middle of the road.

It immediately has a hoppy aroma and a beautiful color and head, The taste matches as an easy drinking aipa.

Besides looking, smelling and tasting as it should, it is strong and reasonably priced. All A's by me.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #50 (March 2011):

Epic lacing meets a deep golden clarity. Aroma start of juicy citrus, then to mint and then hemp seed oil; hop domination in the nose. Body fluffs from the pop of smooth carbonation. Hops are thrown down hard here. Oily resin of heep seeds to citric zest, to mild tobacco. The bitterness is stern, though the flavor rises above. Warming alcohol gives off suggestions of melon, pear, and pineapple. Quick bite of maltiness runs more bready than anything else. Hops are embedded in the palate for an extremely long linger. The name calls it as well—leans a bit harsh, but nothing a true hophead can’t handle.

Bottle poured into a glass.

Appearance Clear liight Gold color, head dissolves rather quickly, not much lace.

Smell Citrus Grapefruit, fant typical IPA smell but not has strong as others.

Taste The normal IPA taste fruity a bit bitter, not really strong but not weak either. A nice balanced taste. Does not finish bitter. Nothing really takes hold in the taste it just a nice refreshing balanced taste. Very clean.

Mouthfeel A light mouthfeel.

Drinkability I think this is a very nice drinkable beer, will not blow you away in any thing but overall its a nice session beer.

One of the more disappointing beers to ever rear its ugly head at the Bistro ipa festival. Pours out a decent looking yellow with moderate cloudiness, got me hoping it was merely hop matter floating throughout, but no. Aroma revealed no dry hopping, attempts at conveying a pine like smell.

Taste, all bitter mouthfeel, no lush green hop notes. Just terrible for something from the bay area. How about some hops man? Not just copper penny bitterness either. This was just all alcohol heat and bitterness.

This is one of the worst ipa's in California. It's also below average for the rest of the nation.

Appears a pale copper orange color with a bright white head forming thick with speckled lacing left behind in my glass. Aroma has some onion like Summit notes with a nice citric grapefruit hop nose. Flavor explodes with grapefruit rind citrus notes and a heavy garlic onion notes bursting through the hop profile sweet malts balance it all out not overtly so but there's a long lasting earthy vegetable like flavor. Mouthfeel has a resinous oily hop texture with even flowing carbonation, probably medium bodied if I had to choose how thick it is. Overall an interesting well spirited hopped up West Coast IPA.

A: somewhat of a dead golden color with orangish-yellow in the body. The head provided a clean-white sticky display of lace. Looks pretty standard

S: hops are very earthy and spicy at first whiff. Smells fairly sweet with caramel at the helm and just a few malts. I swear the sweet notes pull softly at Belgian characteristics, mostly bubblegum. Maybe my senses are awry?

T: sweeter (honeyed caramel) side beckons the profile and the hops show up a bitter floral vibe with earthy/dirty characters. Considering the name "jagged edge," this is an "audaciously hopped" beer in most regards. A bit different. They seem to have broken away from the usual hop suspects in IPA's (cascades & centennial). For me, the malts are in the way just a little too much and more little greenies would be nice

Also, the ABV is rather high reaching into the Double IPA at 7.3% and I can not taste a lick of it, nice work

M: no problems down the hatch. Body flows well and sits at a somewhat sticky mildness. Borderline creamy as it warms up. No bitterness really hangs on the tongue, hops are timid

D: this is a good beer to change things up a bit. Make the tongue and mind sort out some other flavors for an IPA.
I could use a handful more of hops in my glass

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Tangerine liquid, nearly clear with amber highlights. A sudsy ivory finger recedes to a small head and upthrusting collar. Sticky, thin lacing coats the sides.

Acidic, herbal, vegetal aromatics suggest hops, lemon verbena, and mint vomited up by a horse.

Soapy, fruity palate entry. Potpourri, and citrus from the hops, along with an odd malt note. Somewhat perfume-like flavor profile, but not excessively artificial. Herbal, moderately dry finish.

Medium-light bodied, creamy, and well carbonated.

With all the stunning California IPAs around, this beer is best avoided.

Poured from the 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Body is an orange-amber color, topped by a small, listless white head. Aroma mostly of biscuity malt, with some fruity hops and a touch of adjunct off-notes detectable. Palate is a little noisy up front, citrus and floral notes accented by biscuity sweet malt. Some astringency and adjunct malt notes come through as well. Finish is not particularly bitter, but a faint chalkiness lingers in the back of the mouth.
Body is pleasantly creamy, almost akin to that of an ESB or pub ale. Goes down easily enough, but this is hardly a standout in the crowded market for west coast IPAs - not over the top hoppy, not particularly well-balanced. Probably won't go for this again.

Pours a fluffy two fingers of head on a cloudy dark straw colored body.
The aroma has lots of danky lemon, barnish smell, but nice.
The taste has bold lemon bitterness but lots of malt to hold it up. I like it.
The texture is thicker with moderate carbonation.
Enjoy it.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a January 2014 expiration date. Sampled on October 17, 2013.

The color of the pour is cloudy and medium amber brown with a lingering but small off-white delicate head.

Fascinating aroma. certainly I get plenty of floral and piney hops which is to be expected from from an IPA but I also get a chocolate scent.

The body is in the medium range.

The taste also has this chocolate/cocoa malt character followed by a big hoppy bitterness that lingers at the end.

Pours a clear copper color with a tight, pillowy white head that leaves little bits of lacing.

Smells of citrus peel and herbal hops.

Tastes of the solid hops upfront layered over a decent malt base. Hops lead off with herbal notes rushing forward that quickly turn to vegetable notes. Honestly, it detracts significantly. Citrus notes make their through the shuffle and blend in with some malt sweetness. The malts offer up caramel and a bit of toffee.

Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, this feels like a beer that could use some tweaking to become something significantly better.
