Black diamond rampage imperial ipa

A- pour produces a 2 finger off white head resting on a deep golden body. Good head retention and good lacing 4

S- tropical fruits, slight pine, earthy, grapefruit, a begian yeast smell, slight alcohol scent. Smells very good 4

T- tropical fruit explosion! The tropical fruits are accompanied by pine, banana, an earthy undertone. Malt is in near perfect balance. Alcohol is definitely noticavble but doesnt detract much. A very tasty brew 4

M- very good mouthfeel. Lighter on the cabonation side good viscosity 4

O- much better than I expected as I have always seen this and passed it up. Will probably get it again. 4

Bomber > Pint Glass

A - Crystal clear orange copper, really beautiful--can see the carbonation lines perfectly. Light one finger head dwindles down to a thin welcoming layer.

S - Candied fruit, as suggested ("orange") per label. More tropical fruit than citrus on the nose, a nice change from typical IIPAS. Hint of caramel.

T - (Really looking forward to this!) Layers of hops unfold. That tropical profile follows in the flavor--is it the "nectar" that I detect? Grapefruit prevails the more it warms up. Pine is present as well. Good robust flavors Alcohol slightly apparent as it warms.

M - Full mouth feel, foamy carbonation, clean finish. No sticky resin lingering.

O - I like this DIPA, its a bit different than the PNW doubles Ive had. Its definitely worth a try for any imperial india pale ale lover.

Had this on cask at the 2010 Firkin Festival.

This poured a super cloudy, dark orange, sienna brown.

It smelled of grapefruit, pine forest, grass and fresh hops.

It tasted of lemon, citrus, grapefruit, bitter, and pine. It had a more bitter aftertaste.

Good Carbonation. Good drinkability. A good, Imperial IPA, not may favorite but not too bad.

It's OK, not great.

Beer is orangish with some hazy. thin head that breaks quickly, minimal lacing.

Lots of fruit in the nose. Citrus hops all the way.

Beer is medium bodied and lowly carbonated on the palate. The overall experience of the beer is good but not phenomenal. It is a hoppy / tropical midpalate, minimal malt presence and a moderately dry finish. I enjoyed it and would have it again but I wouldn't go out of my way.
