On-tap 9/15/2012 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a dark gold color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, fruity citrus and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out sweet with a strong fruity citrus flavor. Then a strong earthy hops bitterness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid 2IPA worth drinking for while.

Very attractive amber in the tulip glass. Lacing is fine. Full of aroma. Makes me think of tuberoses, it's so sweetly floral. Very sweet on the lips. Lively slew of flavors contributes to a great mouthfeel, along with the pleasant carbonation. Hot but pleasant, like a pepper. Oranges, nutty aftertaste along with the bitterness. Hops are just crazy but so resiny with the sweet malt to balance.

One of my favorite DIPAs. So big, so rich.

Appearance - Deep Caramel color. Great head and good lace.

Aroma - Grassy hops and orange tropical. Sugary. Carried by a biscuit malt smell.

Taste - Piney bitterness. Orange flavors. Sugary sweet biscuit malt backbone.

Mouth feel - Good carbonation. Strong alcohol. Heavy body yet clean.

Overall - A good beer. Definitely heavy with the sweet and bitterness. But that's what I expect in a westcoast imperial IPA. Perhaps a little too strong and sweet for the amount of hop aroma. I feel tipsy for sure.

My wife picked this up for me a couple of days ago.

Appearance- golden color, medium size head

Smell- piney hops

Taste- piney hops, not real bitter at all, pretty good

Mouthfeel- medium bodied

Drinkability- pretty good, I liked it a lot. I think this is one of the best ones I have had from Black Diamond.
