Pours a clear light amber color with a quickly fading white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of citrus and pine hops.

Tastes of the citrus hops with some malt undertones. Hops lead off with citrus and pine notes, but I also pick up a little vegetable-like notes that are not enjoyable. Fairly bitter overall. Hops lead into malt sweetness with some caramel along with toasted bread. Alcohol is well hidden.

Mouthfeel is medium with a slightly crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a decent IIPA, but the vegetable-like hops really hit a note I don't like.

Pours a very bright orange with an inch and a half of tan head. No lace.

Interesting and spicy scent, pepper, passion fruit, apple, earth and tobacco leaf.

The taste starts sweet, more of a caramel. This is followed by some aloe, earth and a heavy pine taste. A bit of boozy heat is noticeable. Goes down nice and smooth. Slight medicinal aftertaste.

It took me a while to grab this being I haven't liked most of their beers. This one hit the spot, just a bit to sweet. Not a bad go at a DIPA. Give it a little tweak and I might come back for more.

Thanks to piercival for the sample hookup. A very noble effort indeed.
Bomber to pint glass - no bottling date present but I assume fresh considering the source.

A: Pours a very clear pale color with some dull copper tones to it. A nice 1 finger cap of foam held tight for quite some time. Lazy intermittent lacing.

S: Candied citrus and grapefruit on the nose upfront that quickly develops into more of a clean mango/peachy and pineapple aroma. Very enticing. Slightly sweetens as it sits.

T: Super juicy blast of fruit flavors - bright grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, mango and orange zest. Like a hop JambaJuice. Piney to boot. Bittered to the limit and maybe even a step beyond. Malt is there but always playing backup to the hops. I pick up some slight caramelness but not really the biscuit it states to have on the label. Faint if even. ABV's really starting to come through in the end. Still finishes dry from all of the bitterness.

M: Sticky and resinous on the tongue that allows the bitters to linger and finish with a dryness to the palate.

D: Superb for a big DIPA. 9% ABV is very well masked here due to the mass of hop usage. Slight bitter harshness noteable.

Make no qualms about it this is a hop bomb. A palate wrecker for sure. If it werent for the slight inbalance of intense bitterness present this would be all 5's for me. It comes off a little harsh to the palate even for me but still delivers well. All in all, a well crafted big west coast style DIPA with some in your face hop flavors that just moved this brewery up a few notches in my book. Similar profile to a Ballast Point Double Dorado with less alcohol presence and more bitterness.
