The beer poured a hazy, cloudy orange and produced a bubbly tan head, about two fingers high. It dissipates fast, leaving good lacing.
The smell is of citrus, lots of yeast, caramel and empty brandy barrel.
The taste very yeasty, the brandy barrel flavors very noticeable up front. In the middle the strong yeast flavors continue, but are now more sweet, like caramel, at the same time tarty and mildly sour. Interesting combination. Very earthy finish, but balanced.
I like this medium bodied Dubbel, and think it was a good drinkable beer. Would buy again!

Clear brown colored beer with a a small light brown colored head.

Smells of chocolate and coffee with a faint sour scent. Chocolate cake batter with coconut. Faint cherry and oak aroma. Smells complex but not strong.

Starts out sweetish with a coconut flavor. Something like chocolate cake with brandy. Really it tastes like German Chocolate cake.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall a very complex blah beer. Not a drain pour but something that is between me and the Hop Head Red that is in my icebox.

First had: on tap at Belmont Station, Portland, OR

I can't seem to find any info on this beer, other than it was listed on tap during the time I visited Belmont. I'm not sure if it's a blend of their two barrel-aged beers, or a beer that was brewed in a completely distinct manner.

Poured a deep honey-mahogany color with red tints, cloudy, with a small white ringlet for a head. Aroma thick with dark sugars, especially molasses, with some dark fruits. Taste was very complex and yet somewhat bland at the same time. Big time oak profile, very pronounced, brown sugar, brandy, only tiny hints of bourbon, as the fruity flavors were the dominant factor. Finish was dry, with notes of cherry and red wine. I think my problem with this brew was, the fruit/liquor/wood flavor took over, and there was almost no room left for anything resembling a beer. Medium-bodied, and moderately drinkable overall, but nothing extraordinary, despite the long name and the seemingly complex process required to brew it.

Burnt orange Carmel color.
Smell fruity. Sour
Taste. Not my cup of tea. Don't want to bash but this beer can't seem to figure out if it is a sour or a brown. Carbonation is high sour fruity tase hits at the same time the malt hits. Just can't get into it. Sorry I'm not going to say its bad cause I don't like sours. But I would take a pure sour beer over one that is confused. It has a slight taste of a Chardonnay. Props for getting a beer to taste like wine it is definitely takes some cajones to make a beer this different
