Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a slightly cloudy coppery amber with an attractive two finger white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, bready malt, stone fruit, nice. Flavor of grassy hops, biscuit malt, light fruit, finishes a bit dry with a slight metallic element. Medium bodied. Not bad at all. Finish is slightly off, but the overall hop and malt bill are nice and well balanced. Expected Mosaic flavor and light bitterness. A worthy session IPA.

Looks beautiful, nice creamy head with solid lacing and retention, and this carries through on the body, medium with nice smooth middle and a crackling, bitter finish.

Unfortunately, the rest of the beer is disposable. Barely a whiff of earthy hoppiness with ester notes playing up just as much. On the palate this is malty and grainy, biscuity finish. Feels warmer than aberr of this abv should be. Minty hop notes are nice.

This would have been passable five years ago as an English/American hybrid pale. These days in the increasingly crowded LA market a merely ok (or slightly worse) stab at a hyped style using a hop-of-the-moment had better be better than this.

Six-pack from Safeway. Bottle label design is awesome, really punchy and memorable. The beer packs the same punch too!

Pours a dark orange color, real nice lacing and a minimal foamy head (standard for IPA I have found).

Smells really strong of citrus hops, some of the bread of the malt, but a really pronounced hop citrus/ lemon smell. Considering the name I can only guess that's from the Mosaic profile. Would've liked a bit more pine notes, or more floral to balance it out.

Tastes similar to the smell. It is a strong punch of citrus mouth feel. The taste is where the pine comes in, especially in the finish. Oily and lingers, but in a good way. Closest comparison would be lemongrass.

Mouth feel is nice. The taste really lingers. Means less sips required to enjoy! You still want to keep sipping, though. Reminds me of the feeling you get by drinking something tart: your tongue begs for the sting after it's gone!

I enjoy this beer. It's not my favorite, and I wouldn't choose a session with it (it's almost too strong of a flavor for me to want to session) but for a low abv IPA that still has a lot of flavor, this is a great option.

On tap at California Kebab in Pacific Beach. Dark amber in the tall nonic. Nice foam that leaves rings down the glass as you sip. Flowery aromas. Nicely carbonated. This Mosaic hop seems to instill a lot of flavor without so much pain.

Warm and toasty taste with a restrained fruity hoppiness. Moderate bitterness. Some resiny notes. Thin bodied but tastes plenty malty. Dark grainy notes. Another really good lower alcohol and lower biterness IPA. A great mellow quaff with nothing "lite" about it.

01-17-2013 update: Had this on tap at Toma Sol and liked it even better. This has a nicer foam than most tap beers, seems to me. Sensationally drinkable, quite malty, nice mango and pineapple tangy flavors, and just the right modest bitterness. On my favorites list.

Picked up a single from BevMo in late May for $1.79. Bottled in January 2014.

Beer poured orange with a beautiful white head that is leaving some lacing behind.

Nose has hints of tropical and citrus.

Taste is mango and grapefruit with some pine. Malts intitially had a biscuity grainy taste but in the end the tropical lingers on the palate.

Mouthfeel is light to medium and decently carbonated for a refreshing feel.

Overall this is a pretty nice session IPA. Would not mind trying a fresher version in the future.
