A crisp, easy-drinking Pilsner beer that is influenced by the great brewing regions of the world, but that charts its own course through this elegant style. The Noble hops play a key role, but allow the malt to take center stage, providing a clean and satisfying quencher that is as welcoming as the Green State itself.

From the Zero Gravity mix pk. Canned 12/18/23.
Clear light gold , with 1/2 finger of quickly-dissipating white head.
Smell is light, sweet toasted grain, with light floral, herbal, and sweet apple aromas.
Taste is close to aroma, with the herbal and floral elements being most prominent. Light spiciness at finish. Light bitterness, that doesn't linger long.
Feel is light, with light-medium amount of fine carbonation tingle.
Overall, not bad. Nothing special, but a nice palate-break among the IPAs.

Another decent attempt at making a mediocre beer. German Pilsner-style beer is insanely boring. So no matter how hard one tries to improve it, every such effort is doomed.
Kudos to Zero Gravity for effort tho.

Pint at The Reservoir in Waterbury, VT. Classic, crisp, honey-heavy Pils. Almost too sweet but it’s a natural honey flavor so it’s quite nice. Balanced and easy drinking. Nice!

10/06/23. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Hazy straw yellow with short white head with low retention and minimal lacing. Not very Pilsner-looking.
S: Aroma is on target with bready pils malt aroma and spicy, herbal noble hop notes. Light pleasant sulfur note.
T: Flavor is solid with lightly toasted bread maltiness with lighter spicy, peppery noble hops flavor. Slight fruitiness which is out of place.
M: Feel is not as crisp or dry finishing as you would look for in upper-tier pilsners.
O: Passable as a lager but a middle of the road effort with a couple of style-based off notes.

Basically German pilsner style, except with the decidedly non-German twist of having some slightly apple-like fruity notes along with the biscuity base. Relatively upfront noble hops bite, strong sweet bready malt foundation.

Generally speaking, it isn't bad, it just isn't good.
There is this off taste and smell that doesn't fit with spoilage. Kind if like weisebeer, but not 100%.
I believe they tried for a spanner and fell short of each. It is not clean, but it does not have enough body to propel it from lager/pilsner.

19.2 oz tall can from Vermont with a August 2023 canning date stamped on the bottom.
This is a stellar lager with good clear flavor that had plenty of Noble hops but with more prominent sweet, bready malt than average for the style. Both bitter and sweet notes are present. Little to criticize here but the feel could be a touch more crisp and dry.

Green State lager on The national day of Vermont.
19.2 oz can acclimated to 42°F and poured into a flute glass.
Pours clear, between yellow and gold but definitely closer to yellow, with a 1 finger, lasting, frothy white head, leaving a film of lacing that retreats to leave a thick ring behind.
Initial aroma is very crisp and somewhat bitter, in an earthy grassy way. I'm reminded a lot of dry white wine, and I pick up hints of black pepper and maybe lavender?
After agitating, there's a big kick of savory funk, with a hint of body odor that isn't unpleasant.
Initial taste before swallowing is somewhat salty and has a healthy dose of yeast, growing more like bread with time. Slight herby notes.
After swallowing it's a lot of yeast and a huge hit of bread, in tastes but also in feel, honestly feels as though I just swallowed bread. A healthy level of sweetness reveals itself in the second sip, sort of a molasses flavor that mostly mellows, bread flavor becoming a lot like squishy white bread. Also revealing itself are the the minerals, I was aware of the year present, but the mineralic bitterness becomes clearly independent.
Aftertaste is minerals, yeast, dairy sourness, light sweetness, a hint of molasses, and a hint of a metallic quality.
Mouthfeel is quite smooth, with a rather hefty body compared to my expectations. There's a very very slight gel like feeling to it as it moves, I guess a viscosity, but somehow body seems a better word. Certainly adding to its success is the carbonation, a froth hindering the speed of the liquid contributes significantly to the intake process. Something I found interesting and quite enjoyable was the feeling of having just swallowed a bite of bread, when the tongue and walls of the throat become exposed again, with that particular yeast flavor coating them, a little peculiar, but very good.
Overall it's done a grand job. A great classic beer taste, maintaining both good and satisfying flavors. The feeling of it exceeded my expectations, however, a balance of great body that slowed me slightly, but still felt very refreshing, satisfying, and even easy to drink. In my opinion It feels best with a medium sized gulp, faster than a medium speed but not fast, and not a chug. Not one I would session personally, I feel 2 is enough, but I did drink a stovepipe. I see it being good any time of year other than winter.
Definitely will be purchasing again! Not often, but definitely, perhaps in 6 packs. Likely to recommend as well.

Pours golden. Nice biscuity aroma with a underpinning of earthy hop character. It's crackling biscuit or straight dough baguette with a little bit of grapey, earthy hop character. At just over $10 a four pack, this is a supreme choice as a fridge beer in the New England area.
