Enjoyed on tap in Park Slope in a curvaceous pint.

a) Pours clouded amber and orange with thin but dense head.
s) All tropical scent, honey, with hops resin dominant - Nice on malt base.
t) Large bold flavors that follow aroma, bitterness balances with sweet caramel malts. Tropical hop flavors take second set of layers: mango, pineapple, creamy guava.
f) Excellent feel and body with moderate carbonation.
o) Total craft quality. Good for any DIPA taste off.

Served on tap at the brewery.
Pours a light, light amber with great clarity and one finger of bubbly head.
Aromas aren't prominent. Some sticky hops, light sweetness present.
Flavors were muddled and not particularly prominent. Mix of light hoppiness and malt sweetness.
Mouthfeel was fine.
Overall, this beer was ok, but mostly forgettable.

Had on tap at Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock, VT poured into their snifter glasses.

A= Darker amber and orange with moderate level of haze.

S= Tropical scent and deep hoppy aroma, some resinous backing and a good amount of sweet malts.

T= Big and bold flavors, high amount of bitterness balanced with sweet malts and caramel. Tropical hop flavors including mango, lime, pineapple.

M=Medium to heavy body with moderate carbonation.

O= This is a big flavored DIPA and has the feel of a big beer. I like it, would not pound a bunch though.

a big beasty double ipa, with yeast from australia and hops from new zealand i believe. i like what this ale yeast does in hoppy beers, and have been using it home in that capacity for a long time, but i never see it on the larger scale. it adds a cool layer that i think hops really like, and this has some darn juicy hops in it, so its a cool and unique beer overall. love all the lace it leaves as i drink on it, spiderweby and attractive. i dont know what it is about new zealand and their hops, but i love them, and this beer showcases a mix of varietals really well. from sliced pineapple to passion fruit, there is a lot of tropical notes going on, but its also just so juicy and fresh, still resinous and a little sweet, sort of west coast influenced, very dynamic, and really forward over a seemingly generic grain base. it lingers long in the finish, and has just a bit of leftover sweetness, but its not displeasing at all. i never really go for the hoppy beers when i go here, they always have such interesting other stuff that i kind of pass them by, this is a reminder that they are awesome in all their brewing. one of the better big ipas i had on my trip back east.

Vermont Brewfest. On tap. Poured a cloudy, dull orange color. All New Zealand hops and Australian yeast. Very much in my wheelhouse. Aroma is of tropical and earthy hops. Hops also seem sweet. Not completely malty sweet either. Flavor is definitely a newer set of hops in my book. I mean, I don't even recognize the names of these hops. Some tropical fruits, different types of citrus, lightly woody maybe. Earthy hops. Some malt sweetness. Body has some fullness. Hops are even semi-sweet. Finishes dry overall with some booze. I was expecting to like this a bit more but it was still good.
