New to Burlington is American Flatbread a Vermont pizza company which most locals in the Burlington area already know about through their presance at local events and their frozen pizza selection in local grocers. The new Burlington location is due to be a brewpub also very soon but on my first visit has yet to offer any of their own brews crafted by Paul Sayler. The brew gear is in place however. Their beer selection is fantastic for the area and gives Manhatten Pizza a run for their money for the best tap lineup in town. With the addition of Paul's beers American Flatbread is sure to top all other local beer bars. Food is great, but only if you like flatbread pizza. They only serve salid and flatbread pizza. That's it! Hit the place and look for my future reviews when they become a brewpub.
update, 4.7.05: they finally have house beers. good stuff.

This was stop #9 for my wife and I on a 9-day East Coast pub crawl and a family visit. The brewery is located in a storefront setting in the busy downtown area. It appears that there is an outdoor eating area in an open space next to the building. (We visited the pub on the day that they closed the street in front in order to have a 10th Anniversary celebration, and the place was packed inside, on the patio and in the street.)
We stopped here to try their beers, and we also ordered a snack to go along. There were 14 beers available, but since this brewery did not offer a sampler flight we did our best to evaluate their beers by ordering 4 pints. Each of them was brewed to style, and each had characteristics that exceeded the style slightly so that overall we scored our 4 beers at a B-minus grade. The Conehead Wheat IPA was the notable one of our selections.
The pizzas that we saw being delivered to adjacent tables looked and smelled good, and our bread sticks that we ate were very tasty. However, this review does not include a score for this category.
The descriptions of many of the other beers sounded tempting, and we would have enjoyed tasting them is samplers were available. But we know our limits, and it had been a long day. We’ll come back here to try some of the other beers if we’re ever back this way again.
