Got the duck rabbit porter looking for the locals at the mostly belgian menu of the Eulogy Bar in Philadelphia. Noce one, too.
The pour is very dark toned, although with a rather dim lighting i couldn't tell whether this was rather brownish or fully black. The head was perhaps medium sized at best and fairly compact, and also very long lasting. tan-ish.
Smell is noticeably boozy. It has a dark chocolate feel at some point but it overall felt sort of pungent; like a truffle of sorts.
Taste wise, instead, it is very mi-point. initially it is seemingly roast-malt sweetness but the overcoming bitter taste makes it tend towards a dark cacao feel. There's also somewhat of a metallic sensation at some point, it can even in fact resemble a red wine of sorts. the drier ones, definetly. End bitterness is very discrete as well, rather than overwhelming. Slightly fizzy throughout and the alcohol, although not high, isn't hidden, making it even palatable. Tasty beer overall.
