The Duck-Rabbit Porter is very dark in color. This robust ale features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, we add oats to the grist for a round, silky mouthfeel. The malt is well balanced with hops to make this a fantastic choice for fans of traditional, robust, full-flavored beers. We're confident that you'll love this yummy porter!

A: Pours a deep dark brown, almost black color. Provides a one finger tan foam head with moderate retention and ample lacing.
S: Mild smells of coffee, chocolate, dark fruit and charred wood. Very appealing although not overpowering.
T: Starts off with a chocolate taste on the front end very pleasing and pleasant, not overly sweet. The middle is where the roasted coffee and charred wood flavors come out. The charred wood really takes over on the back end, overpowering the dark fruit and chocolate taste.
M: Medium body beer that leaves some burnt smoky taste on the palate.
O: Beer started off really nice but the smoky taste really took over which was not as appealing to me.

Huge, long lasting tan head over a clear dark brown body. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and dark bread. Earthy flavor. Catching some bittersweet chocolate, a hint of walnuts and a bit of caramel backing up the roasted malts. Minimal hop presence. Smooth, modestly carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, tasty and true to style.

The result of a pull on a tap handle, with a clear pint glass beneath, there's now a very dark brown liquid inside. The head is a good one, biege, tight and enduring. There will always be something endearing about the looks of a stout/porter. There's no great pronouncement to the aroma, but what is there is one of mildly roasted malt. The typical review of hints of chocolate and coffee probably applies. The taste is fine, if not spectacular. It's best attribute is that it's dry, not sweet the way some porters may go. A little light in body for the style, but if that's the trade-off for the dryness, it's a good one. There's some pretty glass lacing, too. Overall, this is a well above average porter.

Deep brown in color, nearly black be and a thin cappuccino colored head on top. Roasted malts and dark chocolate nibs on the nose, sweet bready notes under that. Roasted malts and some faint hints of unsweetened chocolate in the flavor. Just a hint at a strong coffee flavor in the back end. Bitterness from a piney hop lingers in the aftertaste as well. A little thin for the style, a touch more body would give this a little more character. That said, this is very drinkable and fairly enjoyable.

Classic dark appearance, moderate lacing in pilsner glass. Aroma not my fortay, but seemed a bit shallow, leaning away from "roasty". Taste followed aroma, pleasant, mild. $9.99 + tax 6 pk. Good overall, about a middle of the pack porter. Cheers!

12oz bottle served in a nonic glass. Best before 12/2019.
Appearance: Very dark brown, approaching black. Some cola brown and ruby red highlights when held up to the light. Dense but thin tan head with some thick strands of persistent lacing.
Smell: Woody/smoky, some metallic and molasses notes.
Taste: Tastes a lot like it smells, with roasted malt combined with some charred flavors, a bit of molasses, and a finish that is lightly sour/metallic/bitter all at the same time.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, sticky on the teeth, a bit astringent when cold, but mellows out a bit as it warms up and some of the carbonation dissipates.
Overall / Drinkability: This is one of those beers that needs to warm up quite a bit to even out. The metallic notes and sour/astringent nature is not so enjoyable when the beer is cold, but as the carbonation dissipates a bit and it warms up, the beer isn't quite as acidic and it becomes a charred malt forward porter, which works in its own way for the style. I can only have one per evening, but it paired well with food (meatballs and mashed potatoes) and would be something to enjoy again when fully warmed up.

Decent porter. I'd heard great things about duck rabbit & was expecting an amazing beer. It was a good porter but not not as exceptional as I expected.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear dark, dark brown pour... nearly black. Thin tannish head falls fast. Modest lacing.
S: Sweet and roasty... toasted sugars and light cocoa.
T/F: Follows the nose. Sweet and grainy up front. Good roast character... notes of coffee and chocolate. Medium bodied... lighter than expected and smooth. Hopping for bitterness/balance. Well carbonated. The finish is more bittersweet roast.
O: A decent porter and spot-on for the style. Sweet and roasty... good flavor, and pretty much what I was expecting.
