Poured an impenetrable black with a bigbubbled tan head. The head pulled a houdini pretty quickly and there isnt any noticable lacing.
The smell is heavy on coffee and chocolate aroma creating a sweet mocha nose. There is a pronounced roasted smell, but overall it is all somewhat understated.
Rides in prickly on the tongue with alot of effervescence. Its not too rich, with flavors of chocolate and coffee, the roasted malts really kick around and the hop bitterness mingles with the roasted bitterness in the finish. I swear to god it tastes like Reisen chocolate chews right as its about to go down.
This is not the richest porter around, but it isnt too light either. It is a fine brew for a cold night, but it could stand to have more body. Thanks to blitz134 for the bottle!
