Great look for a porter with a nice brown/creamy head...smells and tastes very hoppy for a porter; nice roasted barley taste with a lingering hop

Deep, dark mahogany color with a huge reddish brown head. Delicious toasty malt aroma, with some dark fruits, chocolate and a little coffee in the background. Smooth, nutty taste that complements the smell, but less pronounced, with just a little warming alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. Easy drinking. If I ever want a session porter, this is it. Good stuff.

12 ounce bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a very dark, almost opaque, but not quite, black color with a TON of caramel-colored head that slowly dissolved into a lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Not much in the aroma department, at least compared to the Duck-Rabbit’s Milk Stout, but I do get a few faint notes of roasted malt, brown sugar and a little molasses.

Taste: Much more flavor than aroma. Nice notes of roasted malt and freshly baked dark bread, followed by some coffee, caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness, some slight dark chocolate-like bitterness and finally, some subtle hops.

Mouthfeel: A little chewy, but smooth, especially for a porter, as there’s practically no carbonation what-so-ever. With an ABV of 5.7%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a pretty good porter. It has some nice flavors of roasted malt, coffee and some caramel-like sweetness that I enjoyed. Definitely worth a try for porter fans.

Small starting head that settles to rim bubbles. There's decent streaky ring lace on the glass. The color is near black where no light shines through the edge.

Toasted dark bread and some nuttiness to the aroma.

The flavor features a stronger burnt element to the tongue. Comes across as chewy. Warm aftertaste of burnt bread, roasted nuts and unsweetened chocolate.

Pours a nice deep brown with no light coming through. Head is tan, large and in charge with decent lacing. Aroma is light, with chocolate and creamed coffee. Taste is similar, but I am getting a metallic character that ruins the whole beer for me. The drink by date is 11/14(one month away) but not that great with its odd metallic taste. This beer has been sitting on a room temperature shelf for awhile in the store I am sure and do not know if that has something to with it. Little disappointed with this brew. After I left this review, I looked a t several others and I see a lot of people reporting this same metallic, tinny taste. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
