The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is an American brown brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it's hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo boil hops provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops offer a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by seven varieties of malt. The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is a great choice for anyone who appreciates assertive hops and nutty toasted malt flavors – oh yeah!

This beer pours a cherry amber color with a dirty tan film for a head.
Smells of chocolate candies, caramel and a touch of dry, woody hops for balance.
The flavor was unexpected as it starts with a touch of cocoa and honey, but then is dominated by something that is not quite coffee, but not quite smoke, almost like a smoked porter or a rauch.
Feels light and distant with a playful swelling carbonation that is very clean, helping to deliver the smokey notes.
A great beer, but for the style, it seems a bit off.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle, courtesy of a beer club. Deep, reddish brown, very clear with medium tan head. Smells of rich dark malt, caramel and nutty. First taste is of citrus rind and/or the inner shell of a nut, very sharp and dry upfront. Further in, the flavor starts to balance out with more rich malt coming through to the end. Still the hops rule here and overwhelm the brown of the ale. I would have enjoyed more balance throughout.

A brace of draught 12oz tulips at the Taps Fill Station in the Mount Vernon Market here in Baltimore: Man that's a LOT of hops! It's NOT as if I wasn't warned. NOR was the experience unpleasant. I just prefer more malt in my Brown Ale.

Purchased as a single bottle from The Fresh Market for $2.19. Poured into a nonic pint glass.
L - Pours a mellow brown with a huge four-finger fluffy and tan head. Head retains extremely well.
S - Dark toast and crusts, cacao, and toffee.
T - Starts off with a sort of black tea and cacao note, then slowly becomes a toasted oat and cracker affair. Gets increasingly bitter as you progress down the glass. Relatively one-dimensional, actually.
F - Medium-bodied with plenty of carbonation. Clean finish, but silky throughout. A little strong-feeling.
O - A bit too bitter of a take of the style for me, if I'm being honest. I won't be buying another bottle, but it could be someone else's cup of tea. Unremarkable.

12oz bottle, tulip, best by 6/20.
Deep ruby, brawny tannish head initially that really melts down to a solid ring.
Vinous, a little cocoa, plum, a citrus edge.
Gritty, dry cocoa, candied orange, toffee, Vienna roast coffee. It’s pretty grittily bitter, lovely, with orange and herbal hop flavors.
Drying, medium body with tickling carbonation.
Tasty brown ale with a hoppy edge.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tumbler.
Enjoy by 7/20
One finger of thick tan foam covers a clear dark brown body. Mild strength malty nose, caramel, graham cracker and herbal hops. Taste is roasty, moderately bitter, a bit ashy and finishes tangy and bitter. The body is dry and medium weight. Carbonation is low-medium. Average brown.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy brown with mahogany hues; big creamy khaki head that falls leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are malt forward. Some cocoa. I'm picking up on some banana and bubblegum, which is unexpected. The flavors basically follow the nose. More hints of cocoa along with some chocolate. Some toffee. More hints of banana and bubblegum. Moderate bitterness. Subtle sweetness with mild tart characteristics. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's crisp, slick, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid brown ale. It's kind of unique. It's different while ultimately being a traditional example of the style. Not bad.

12 oz. poured into New Belgium Pendleton globe glass.
-quite dark, with ruby highlights
-the light tan head could need to be poured more aggressively for some height, but could be the glass is dusty; it faded quickly, emitting fine aromas of dark roasted chocolates, richly roasted grains and malts, and leaving a fine ring and light mist in the center
-much more bitter than one would expect from a brown ale- if it were most any other brewery....but some duck rabbit brews (not milk stout) seem to be on the hoppier side of the scale, and that's fine. The big round malt and toffees have been roasted and hopped down more like a dark roast or espresso, which does thin the body. The longer it sits, the better it gets!
Let it air out and warm up. Very classy and fine.
- the feel does slightly thin out and that makes it easy to pound it down. Even after sitting a while writing this review, the last 1/4 is better than the first! Perfectly carbonated. The aromas have multiplied in strength .
-If you don't like it at first, just let it sit. I highly recommend trying this.
12 pack 3/3/3/3 assortment was about 16$! Happy Thanksgiving
