The pour was a dark burgandy red with a one finger light tan head that quickly dissapated and left a thin lace on top of the beer.

The smell was heavy in hop spice with a slight hidden floral undertone with a very light scent of citrus in the rear of the nose.

The drink started with a kick of hop spice followed by light sweetness and the finish was a lingering hop bitter with a sweet malt undertone.

A very good example of brown ale. Find it if you can you won't be disapointed.

12oz bottle served in a pint glass. Date stamp not on bottle, but I see the spot for it on the label.

Appearance: Clear Dark amber to deep copper. Thin persistent tan head. Thick strands of persistent lacing.

Smell: Roasted malt, burnt sugar, cocoa powder, root beer.

Taste: Initial sweetness with caramel, burnt sugar, toffee. Hoppy finish of pine, black coffee, and English bittering hops.

Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, spicy on the tongue. Sticky on the teeth.

Overall/Drinkability: A very interesting combo of strong malts and bittering hops. Tasty, but didn't pair well with pizza. Still, full flavored and I look forward to another. Interestingly, one per evening for me with this one.

The bottle claimed something to the effect of "dark beer specialists", so I had my hopes up. I was not disappointed. The beer pours out a beautiful, clear ruddy brown with a nice cap of creamy tan head. It clings to the glass and leaves nice lacing. Aroma-wise this one is spot-on. Dark caramel and roasted nuts play off each other with just a little hint of earthy hops to round it out. Flavor-wise, this one is great. The hops take a more dominant role but the balance becomes much better and enjoyable. There's a little bit of fizz from the carbonation but it has a nice weight to it and is mostly smooth on the palate. An under-appreciated style, frequently butchered. This is just about perfect.

Look: A LOT of head. Light tan in color and very fluffy. Head sticks around a while. Looks like a cream soda, almost. Has a deep, amber, reddish color with a lot of bubbles.

Smell: A little hoppy, with a hint of roasted nuts and chocolate. Almost has a slight scent of cream soda as well as it's looks.

Taste: Roasted nuts upfront, with just a very light hint of dark, unsweetened chocolate. A slight hop finish.

Feel: Very carbonated, light bodied.

Overall: The beer looks great, smells great, Tastes, pretty good, and overall, I'd consider it good to go. Not something I'd typically drink, but pretty good. I'd buy it again.

12oz long neck.

A) Pours with a very active tan colored head. Great head retention. Creamy with some big bubbles, but amazingly sticky. Though a dark body, very good clarity with energetic upward carbonation. Mahogany in color.
S) Caramel. Toffee. Roasty notes.
T) Subtle malt sweetness up front then drops off quickly. Hints of coffee. Noticeable hops in the finish.
M) Medium-light body. Slightly dry finish.
D) An alright brown ale. This is my second attempt at trying this brown ale in hopes of improvement. I wish the body was a little bit heavier and the taste profile would last longer.
