A: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Body is black except when backlit - then some ruby edges appear. Despite an aggressive pour, I get just a small (half-finger at best) light brown head. It's gone quickly and leaves no real lace to speak of.

S: I definitely get the milk sugar/vanilla-type scents in the nose. Also a faint touch of roasted barley or burnt coffee. None of it's terribly strong, however.

T: First impression is the milk sugar that defines a milk stout. I didn't get it the first couple of sips, but after 4 or 5 I'm getting a solid coffee/roasted coffee bean taste as well. Some nuttiness too, makes me think of hazelnut coffee. With cream. Finishes with a slight bitterness that provides some balance to all that sweetness.

M: Call it medium in heft, though that might be a bit generous. Mouthfeel here is good - carbonation is modest (I had my first 2 Duck-Rabbit beers earlier tonight, and both the Amber and Brown were over-carbonated), giving this one a slightly slick feel. But given the relatively light body, it's not at all syrupy or chewy.

O: Good stuff. A nice, sessionable (at 5.7%) milk stout that packs in plenty of flavor without all the weight.
