Pours jet black with one and a half fingers of tan head that fades slowly to a thin cap. Spotty lacing.
Smell is chocolate, molasses, rum-soaked raisins, a hint of vanilla, and alcohol.
Taste begins with some sweet chocolate and molasses before a hint of alcohol. Rum-soaked raisins and vanilla lead back into some chocolate, burnt sugar, and a slightly hot, but sweet, finish.
Full-bodied, smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
Pretty drinkable, despite the alcohol heat. I'm pretty glad I still have a couple of these in the cellar!
