On cask at Flying Saucer during their 11th anniversary served in a tulip glass a deep opaque black with no head. Aroma is loads of fresh sour cherries. The taste is a nice kick of tart cherries that don't quite overpower the dark malts but are certainly present! The beer is medium bodied with a nice touch of dryness. This is a n enjoyable sour take on a Baltic Porter.

On cask at Khyber Pass Pub for Philly Beer Week. Thank you Phil for coming up and thank you Jeremy for hosting.

end of Reason is a dark ass brew, it's very black looking and well, it's just black, cant gett around that. Off the cask a bit of tannish foam springs up than kinda fades a bit, no legs on the glass. Smell is sour cherry up front and a whole lot of em. It smells sour, it smells like many infected stouts that I've had yet this is a different story. Sour cherries, roasted coffee, vanilla and sour. I almost cringed when I sipped this, I've been weary about dark sours since they don't pop for me and i had the same reaction with this one. Not sure if this was innoculated or if the sour just came from the cherry skins, but Im thinking the latter. Sour cherry under tastes of chocolate, roasted coffee and a bit of dark fruit which is kinda muted under the cherry. I get dark fruits out the whazoo with the regular baltic porter and it is missed here. The feel is tart and roasty and it stayed with me for a while. The body is above medium and carb is kinda light in this version. in all honesty, it would be a miracle if i could get through five ounces of this stuff. Not very drinkable for my palate. I love sour and I adore the regular baltic porter, but if it's not broke don't fix it.

Had this on tap and the 2010 ACBF. Waited in line to try it because there was a lot of buzz hovering over this beer. After getting my sample I gave it a good look and liked the darkness it had. Also gave off a bit of a red hue. The head with thin and didn't leave much lacing. The smell was sour... Wasn't expecting that from a porter at all. The taste followed up with the sour aspect as well, wasn't overly thrilled by this. The beer had elements of vinegar in the aftertaste very different from most porters I've had. The mouthfeel was a bit thinner than normal too I thought. Overall not my favorite porter but for people who like sour ales this could be very good to them.

On cask at Khyber Pass Pub, poured into a tulip.

A rich dark black, with a thin purplish head. From the start, it looks like a dark rich beer that you can really sink into.

The aroma is of a cross between Sam Adams Triple Bock and balsamic vinegar, with a hint of tartness that tickled the nose.

The beer is very rich, smooth, and encompassing. You feel it envelop your tongue with every sip. The flavor is slightly sweet and slightly sour, like a balsamic vinegar with hints of maple syrup, with a mild sourness.

Overall, it's a very unique brew. The closest beer I've had to this is the Triple Bock, and this is not as sweet, strong, cloying, or soy-saucey as the Triple Bock. It is very rich and smooth, but the balsamic vinegar flavor gets to be too much after a while. It's not a beer you can drink quickly, you can't even sip it quickly. 2 oz in a snifter may be fine, but 10 oz in a tulip I feel is too much. Worth a try, but a couple onces is all you need.

A- comes to me with a big finger of khaki colored head that settles to a cm of so a holds the whole way down. Totally opaque black in color.

S- rich dark chocolate and dark roasted coffee on top of a light fresh picked sour cherries. Way off for some people but exactly what the brewer was looking for.

T- I didn't know I could taste son many things at once in a beer. You get all three components of the brew all at once. Perfectly integrated bitter chocolate and dark roasted espresso, all on top of a very bold sour cherry background. Long complex roasty sour finish

M- a few steps above medium in body and very lightly carbed but by no means flat. Solid pucker from the cherries.

O- this is a wild ass brew and a very good one at that. I'm totally digging it.
