A) Dark, inky brown. It is nearly black in the glass. Pours a massive head - three fingers of sandy brown, uneven, wavy foam. Said foam dissipates slowly leaving thick, raised strands of lace.
S) Heavily roasted aroma - lots of dark chocolate. The roast is countered by a healthy dose of green pine and zesty citric hints. Chocolate smooths as it warms.
T) Piney, resinous hops kick off first with a dry, zesty bite. Though just as roasty as the aroma, chocolate isn't nearly as prominent. Instead, there is an overall tangy roast cutting across the hops. Long-lingering roast and bitterness.
M) Medium bodied with vigorous carbonation to carry the beer along. There is a mildly coating build up over time.
D) Hoppy Bunny is pretty decent overall. I could go for less of the tangy roast and more of the chocolate. It's rough around the edges and doesn't fully gel. Hoppy Hare would be a more appropriate name.

Poured on-tap at the Carolina Ale House in Fayetteville, the beer was served in a 22oz mug. The beer is a dark brown-to-black coloring with ruby highlights and a dense, creamy, foamy, light tan head. Nose of coffee and cream, earthy notes, and bitter, dry hops. Flavors are roast forward, with mocha notes throughout, creamy highlights, and a solid, dry, bitter backbone. Easy to drink. Light, smooth, crisp body. The aftertaste is coffee and cream again, with chocolate highlights. Smooth, clean finish. Not overly hopped, but very well balanced and very drinkable.

12 ounce bottle -> Snifter
A - typical obsidian black with one finger tan head, good retention and lacing.
S - very chocolate and coffee oddly enough with a few pine notes as well.
T - sweet and malty perfectly balanced with a roasted nut, chocolate, and dark chocolate finish
M - good and thick with just the right amount of carbonation.
O - more like a porter IMHO, but very nice offering.
