Served on-tap at City Beverage in Winston-Salem, NC

A: Pours an opaque yet clear very dark black in color with some moderate amounts of gentle carbonation near the surface of the beer and some ruby red highlights. The beer has a finger tall creamy dense dark tan head that slowly reduces to thick film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, dark fruits, and saltiness from the oysters.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate amount of roasted malts with some light notes of bittersweet chocolate and dark fruits. There is a light to moderate amount of saltiness/brininess in the finish. Light amounts of bitterness that fades quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness in the finish. Slightly watery.

O: This is was quite enjoyable and had the distinctive flavor that I associate with Duck-Rabbit brewery. The brininess is a little more subdued than in some of the other oyster stouts I have sampled but it was still present and there right in the finish. Easy to drink and enjoyable, I would get this one again.
