This pours hazy orange and has a good head that lasts; no complaints on the appearance. The smell is invitingly hoppy with a subtle amount of malt. The flavor is immediately tart and grassy. The earthy woodsy taste is actually pretty overpowering. I don’t find this to be my favorite pale ale by a long shot, but I would definitely recommend this to someone who was seeking out that “mowed grass” taste.

Wow an oasis in a beer wasteland I already like this place, their plae ale pours a deep golden with a nice sticky, frothy head, more of a mlat dominated aroma of biscuit and light caramel but with a touch of piney hop.A very well balanced brew a firm lightly sweet malt backbone with a piney hop flavor that comes to make this a well balanced flavorsome beer.I could drink beers like this all day if it wasnt for the wife I would still be there drinking some.

A: a very light translucent color, miller liteish.

S: grains and malts overpower the nostrils, but not in a pleasing way.

T: a decent tasting pale ale but leaves an unremarkable bitter aftertaste.

MF/D: bland hops sizzle the tongue very briefly leaving much to be desired, great for a warm summer day however.

Clear golden-amber in color. Thin, yet lacing layer of white head. Aromas are of citrusy, with a little bit of malt. Flavor is flavorful. There's some level of malt support, but it's really about the hops. Finishes dry, with just a touch of honey to balance the hop bitterness. Good mouthfeel and a real drinker. I'll definitely be drinking this whenever I stop by again.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Unibroue snifter.

A: The beer is a deep amber color. Poured quite clear although a small amount of sediment remained at the bottom of the bottle. Has a short white head that soon fades to a ring, leaving little lacing on the glass.

S: The aroma is complex and malty for style. Features caramel malts and some pale hops and light hops with hints of vanilla, honey, and citrus.

T: The taste has a crisp and spicy/herbal hop component along with a sweet malt base. Overall, mildly bitter by the finish. More malt in the finish and aftertaste than expected. Complex flavor components integrate nicely.

M: Crisp; medium body; medium carbonation; semi-dry finish.

O: A complex and flavorful APA. More malty than average due to the load or assortment of malts; not to any lack of hops. Recommended.

Looks pleasant and refreshing. Warm golden amber color, clear and crisp, with a near white foamy top. The head fades to a ring with a thin layer in the middle. Aroma carries fresh hoppy goodness, sweet fruit, grass, hay, and a good amount of doughy sweet malt. Nice graininess. Taste is good and malty with bright cascade hops among others. Lightly bitter which is just where I like it for this kind of pale ale. Mouthfeel is good. Brisk carbonation, a touch of graininess in the texture, and a medium-light body.

Overall I like this beer. Thanks to the local factor, it very fresh. Good balance and very enjoyable, especially after a lazy day in the sun.

Pure golden yellow body with a light head that thinned but retained fairly well. Not much lace. Moderate carbonation.

Didn't really smell like much other than the expected pine aroma from the hops. A deeper couple whiffs and you get some citrus too.

Very enjoyable flavors, with hops spiciness up front, a good sharpness balanced by the bitterness and a strong enough malt sweetness and citrus-y element to add further balance and depth. Felt good and tingly in the mouth, just ever so slightly on the watery end of things.

No real complaints. If you're looking for a sharp and bitter Pale Ale with good balance, this delivers.

On tap at Natty Greene's in Raleigh

Pours amber with an orange hue. There's 1/4" lacing of head with decent retention. The nose is grassy, citrusy, floral hops; it seems to be a single hop variety. The taste is pale malt up front with the same citrusy, floral hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

This is an easy drinking beer. I'm not sure what hop variety they used, but it dominates the nose and the flavor making it a little one dimensional overall.

Picked up a single at Chip's in OBX. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm enjoying this pale ale. It's definitely East Coast-hoppy, with a balanced malt character. The hops have a clean, but light floral tangerine juiciness over the crusty bread barley. There's a mild, but sharp bitter finish to lighten the beer. The aroma has more of the perfumey floral hops. Mmmmm. Very pleasant. Give this a try.

This is an outstanding Pale Ale by any measure. Poured from a bottle into a pint glass, 5.2% ABV. From the labeling codes appears the bottle is 28 days old.

The color is a nice copper and is cloudy, but also clear, sort of a mix. Not sure if this beer is filtered or not. Lacing on the glass is outstanding.

Smell is sweet and piney hops. The taste is hope, but also has the malt "backbone" for balance. Hopefully this review helps.

This is one of the most flavorful and well balanced Pale Ale's I have had. I have been drinking Natty Greene's for years, and the beer just keep getting better everytime I drink one.

Pours a golden color with very little head and pretty good lacing. Aroma is of hops and some malt, focusing on hay and grass aromas. A touch of barnyard odor also, if you know what I mean. Taste is ok, hops are decent and the malt is slightly too much. Hops and malt sweetness battle it out in this beer and I am not sure who is winning. Mouthfeel is good with a decent amount of carbonation(could have used a touch more). Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a hint of a metallic flavor.

Served from tap into a Yuengling shaker. Poured yellow-orange with a one finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, caramel hop, and spicy hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, metallic, caramel, caramel hop, and skunk hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. I really went into this one not expecting much, but was somewhat surprised. While this was not one of the best Pale Ales I’ve had, it did have quite a bit going on. I really wish there would have been some more sweetness or fruit in this one rather than the metallic and skunky note I picked up on. Without this going on it could have been a solid brew in my opinion. Worth trying at least once if you get the chance.

Pours a hazy/dirty golden honey color with a short white head that settles into a sparse cap.

The aroma is bright and sweet. There are scents of pineapple and grapefruit. A bit of grass as well. Some bready aromas from the malt.

The taste mimics the aroma. Pineapple is dominate but not overpowering. Grass and grapefruit keep the hop profile from being too sweet. Grass really comes through in the finish. The malt is bready with a honey sweetness.

The feel is moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate but finishes with a hoppy bitterness. Good balance and very easy to drink.

I found this APA to be quite enjoyable. Nice bright hop flavors and enough bitterness to balance. I would buy this again.
