2013 vintage bottle served chilled in a snifter
Appearance: copper and clear with a sticky tan head. No sediment in the glass initially but I think there is some in the bottle.
Nose: port wine, sherry, dried fruits, complex oxidation, gingerbread cookies, figs, caramel, toffee, cherries
Taste: very smooth and drinkable, no alcohol heat at all, dangerous at 10% ABV, follows the nose but with a slight hint at some faint bitterness from the hops of history past. Medium body after 3 years.
Overall: this beer is drinking like a king right now. I have one other bottle that I'm going to share at an upcoming event. Delicious and complex. Great English Barleywine.

2013 vintage, served in a snifter
Copper colored with a low head that settles out slowly.
Aroma of ripe fruit, winey.
Flavors of honey, apricot and berries, a bit boozey. Pretty one-dimensional, needs some complexity.

Pours into a snifter a deep rich burnt orange infused amber (like others have noted) with a sticky creamy white that sticks like glue to the glass as it settles into a frothy mass.Drunken fruit stands out most in the nose,I pick up a hint of leather as well.Big alcohol and fruit up front on the palate with alot of brown sugar and cakiness, very English in nature. The alcohol packs a punch but it should as it is 10% abv. and an English style barleywine,a little underrated in my opinion.

A: The beer is clear orange amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that quickly died down, leaving a ring of large bubbles around the edge of the glass and some wispy lacing on the surface.
S: Light aromas of toffee are present in the nose along with hints of caramel malts.
T: Like the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of toffee and also has notes of caramel malts along with hints of raisins. No bitterness is perceptible, but there are enough hops to mask any traces of cloying sweetness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a bit sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. As the beer warms up, there is some warming from the alcohol towards the finish.
O: This beer is rather drinkable for a barleywine as it doesn't have a real sticky and heavy mouthfeel and also manages to hide its alcohol very well.
Note: 2013 vintage

This is the perfect time of year for Barley wines. This poured a dark amber color with a fairly white but faint head.
The aroma was all malt, as I would expect from this type of beer. Not much else in the nose. The initial taste was very big and I picked some spices to go along with the malt. Almost as a burnt bitter chocolate, faint along with an almond/pecan feel. The aftertaste did not last that long, so that was a bit of a disappointment.
Overall, a good representation of a full barley wine ale.
