A: As a seasonal, this has a nice autumnal hue to it, mostly a rusty-amber color, with some faint ruby highlights. Reminds me of all the colors of changing leaves rolled into one. Head was frothy and around three fingers, which took a while to dissipate and left some lace sprinkled along the glass on its way down.
S: Aromatic, seemingly moreso than other fall seasonals, with a hop side that smells rather floral and fresh, and a toasty malt backbone that is evident. Slightly sweet, yeasty and boozy smell, faintly like a Belgian, but nowhere near as pronounced for any of the three.
T: Has a bready taste up front, plenty of malt that slides right away, all the way to the back of the throat. Hop profile is just enough to bitter and balance, but definitely not anything more. Brief flash of sweetness in the middle toward the finish is pleasant, and the aftertaste is minimal, which suits this beer well.
M: So smooth and mild, the carbonation is enough to add some creaminess but still ensures a mostly thin and refreshing mouthfeel.
D: I figured this would be a good nod to the end of October, as I enjoyed this offering from Harpoon a lot around this time last year. While it excels in mouthfeel, its taste is above average, but the balance in the taste works well. I'd say this is a great way to say farewell to the month.
