Notes/Commercial Description:
Light, crisp, refreshing UFO White follows in the tradition of spiced wheat beers that have been brewed in Belgium for well over 300 years. Brewed with orange peel and a unique blend of spices, UFO White is the perfect choice for a summer’s barbecue, a night out with friends or any time you¹re thirsting for something a little different. Like UFO Hefeweizen and UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen, we leave UFO White Unfiltered for a more natural taste and appearance.

A - translucent wheat gold

S - light, crisp, a bit of citrus

T - refreshing wheat beer without being plain at all, actually an enjoyable flavor

M - light but heavily carbonated, refreshing after being out in the sun

D - quite so - no one flavor is overpowering the other

After having the UFO Hefe I was happy to pick up this six pack (as it was also on sale for the week!!!) and give it a try. Glad I did. Just a refreshing as the Hefe and just as enjoyable. I look forward to finishing this six pack (especially as the afternoons warm up).

12 oz brown bottle with a "Best By" freshness date printed on the bottle.

The head is not shy to tower to the top of the glass, that is for sure as it leaves a sticky white lace on the glass. Hazed pale yellow straw color. Hint of spice and wheat malt in the nose, a bit of yeast as well. Solid crispness with a rolling smoothness over the medium body. Light and fluffy wheat maltiness is a strong enough base for the style, spiciness is assertive but not overbearing with a slight kiss of bitterness from the coriander and a soft edge of orange peel. A little dry breadiness and nutty yeast in the semi-dry finish.

While Harpoon's version is missing the tart plum fruitiness seen in most Witbiers it makes up for that with balance and drinkability which is what the style is about.

Pours a hazy golden straw color with a large white head. The aroma is what you would expect, coriander and orange peel. The flavor is mainly coriander with some orange in there as well. The finish is spicy coriander. This is not bad, but is a little heavy on the coriander resulting in an unbalanced overall flavor. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Hazy pale yellow color with a thin white head that lasted less than minute with no lacing.

Smell: Citrus domintates with wheat and other grains.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Light to medium bodied and drink much like soda with the carbonation. Taste is dominated with citrus, taste like orange up front with a lemon aftertaste.

Overall: Good beer, but not really my style. I would drink this one again if offered.

Reminds me of blue moon but with added bitterness. Hazy with a white head. Looks like a witbier. Smell is heavy on the bitter orange and plenty of coriander. Flavor is Strong on the citrus flavor. Aftertaste needs to be cleaner. Otherwise ok but definitely room for improvement. A below average Belgian wit.
