Notes/Commercial Description:
Light, crisp, refreshing UFO White follows in the tradition of spiced wheat beers that have been brewed in Belgium for well over 300 years. Brewed with orange peel and a unique blend of spices, UFO White is the perfect choice for a summer’s barbecue, a night out with friends or any time you¹re thirsting for something a little different. Like UFO Hefeweizen and UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen, we leave UFO White Unfiltered for a more natural taste and appearance.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a plain pint glass.

A: Clean, pale gold beneath a thin and wispy head of bubbly, white carbonation which didn't retain very well. Chilled yeast and protein haze settled in after contents of bottle were poured in.

S: Spicy, somewhat artificial citrus aroms with orange and corriander. Pulpy juice and sweet aroma.

T: Sweet, crisp, citrusy flavors up front with a thin, harsh bitterness that settles in around mid-palate before washing down with a little cloying, orange sticky sweetness. Spices are light and mild keeping the flavor pleasant enough without becoming Orange Glow.

M: Thin, carbonated and a tad watery in some spots, it does hold some stickiness in the finish wit a sharp metallic peak at its center.

O: Not the most authentic or well-crafted and refreshing American wit I've had, but the UFO White does pack enough flavor to keep me occupied and also keeps me from reaching for any fruit to add to it. Sessionable and a better option than Shock Top for sure.

12 oz brown bottle

Harpoon UFO White poured a hazy yellow gold producing a nice bubbly 2-finger white head. The nose is of light coriander and citrus [orange peel]. The taste is dominated by light orange citrus, with a touch of coriander, a little sweet, and a dry cracker type wheat finish. Mouth feel is light on the palate with a lively carbonation.

UFO White is very close to an American Wheat with just enough wit bier characteristics in the mix. The Ale is easy drinking and thirst quenching. UFO White is a little on the bland side when compare to the better wit biers.

A cloudy straw yellow in color, tones of Oranges dominate the flavor.Nice finger and a half of head after the initial pour, dwindled down to a good 1/4 inch at the last gulp.I must say this had a very flat taste despite the bottle date of 2/15/12. Perhaps a bad batch? I am willing to try it again though. Certainly not a typical white/wit bier.

Enjoyed in a pilsner glass

A: pours a nicely hazy straw color with a Ron of carbonation bubblesand a two finger head that is creamy and is pure white, leaves spotty lacing on the glass
S: great gentle orange scent with a bit of underlying bready character from the wheat
T: thus is the best part of this brew by far, incredibly refreshing gentle citrus taste, but there really much depth or complexity to the brew
M: light on the carbonation which really helps it drink a lot better, leaves a bit of lingering tartness on the palate
O: a nice brew, great for a hot summer day (even though right now it's a cold fall day) refreshing and nicely drinkable

A: Cloudy yellow color with a thin line of bubbles on top.

S: Wheat aroma with a rather strong orange citrus.

T: A citrusy wheat beer flavor that is'nt too bad. Has an almost fruity-pebble taste. The flavors aren't too strong and the beer is a little thin tasting. There are no off-flavors.

M: Very light and velvety smooth with low carbonation.

O: A very sessionable beer. Mine went down in a few minutes. Good stuff.

Appearance: Golden yellow color with just a slight haze and 1 finger of fluffy head that fades quickly to a thin cap with little lacing.

Aroma: Yeast over wheat malt, with a sweet note mixing in, almost corn-like and some hints of banana in the background.

Taste: Sweet malt initially, then a rush of carbonation washes everything out before the wheat malt shows up towards the finish with some astringency, and faint banana and clove notes as well. I also get some orange pith bitterness in the finish.

The Rest: Medium bodied but lacking in some of the more fruity characteristics that I prefer in wits, this is none the less a decent beer.

This brew poured out as a hazy yellow color with a nice fluffy white head on top. The lacing wasn't too bad here. The smell of the beer has some light grains on the nose and a pretty hefty amount of orange citrus on the nose. The taste of the beer was pretty refreshing, would be very nice on a summer day. The mouthfeel is smooth and sliky. The drinkability of this is really good in my opinion. Overall this beer is quite nice I think.

I drank this from a pint glass...

Pours a sunny orange/ yellow color with a fluffy white head. The smell is dominated by orange peel and cream, almost like a dreamcicle, there is just a little spice in the background, maybe a hint of clove and that's about it. It tastes of wheat and more orange peel and lemon, it's very citrusy. The beer has a medium body with lots of carbonation and a dry finish. This is an ok wit, the orange peel pretty much over powered everything else though.

A – Hazy, light golden cider. Nice white head holds up with ok retention and poor lace.

S – Nice, sweet orange and well pronounced wheat. Bright, tangy yeast note.

T – Opens soft with wheat, then snaps into an acidic middle with orange zest, water crackers, pear and plantains. Mildly bitter, wheaty finish.

M – Nice carbonation. Medium body. Ok smoothness. Sweet finish.

O – Not bad, but not great. A touch too acidic.

Straw gold in color. Just hazy enough to be opaque. The head is bright white when poured and is almost gone by the first sip.

Has a mild scent of oranges mixed in with a grainy pilsner-like smell. Not a strong smelling beer.

Tastes like a wheat beer with a small splash of orange juice. Like the smell, there is a taste, but it's not strong at all.

Light to medium bodied with an early sweetness. There's almost no bitterness, but the sweetness is tiny so it doesn't need balancing. Despite little head, the finish has a bit of a carbonated dryness that was pleasant with the initial sweetness.

A good beer for summer. A very loose rendition of a witbier, but not bad at all.

A. A steady pour got me a finger and a half of lively off white head. Body is translucent and the color of dirty straw. The head shrinks very quickly to a ring. With this being unfiltered I was expecting sediment on the bottom of the glass and am disappointed to see none.

S. Mainly yeast and lemon are what I get from the nose. There are faint elements of a grassy note as well as some wheat and spice.

T. Yeast and lemony orange start off this journey. It quickly gives it up to a spiced bread flavor that has traces of banana to it.

M. Very mild and easy going. A little watery to start off with, but honestly not in a bad way if you can believe that. Light bodied, I could drink these all day, especially on a muggy one like this. Quite refreshing.

Poured a massive 4" white head. Hazy lemon yellow color body. Very slight smell of citrus peel and spice. Equally light taste of the same, yet still quite watery. I'm being honest when I say this strikes me as not much more than a BMC version of this kind of beer. It might have an edge over something like Blue Moon but not much else.

An extremely carbonated hazy yellow. A large amount of big bubbly head. A lot of yeast character up front. Coriander and clove spice. A biting wheat aroma. Sweet and bitter upfront with the coriander yeast notes popping through followed by some tangy orange/lemon wheat. A peppery hop finish that is crisp and slightly sour on the palette. Goes down smooth and refreshing but after a couple the finish starts to scratch at the back of my throat.

Picked up as part of Wintery 12 pack. So far all have drank nicely..

Pours honey colored with a sliver of white head. Not much lacing or head retention

S: Faint phenols & lemons, pears

T: Fikkiws the nose, a touch of white pepper & coriander as well up front. A touc of grainy sweetness as this warms, along with some golden delicious apple & lemons. Finishes lemony, grassy, peppery & with a touch of juicy-fruit gum

MF: Light/medium bodied, fairly assertive carbonation. Carbonation amooths out as this warms

An easy drinker, that stays very true to style

Poured a hazy light orange into a pint glass, with a thick white head and excellent lacing.

The smell was very grassy, lemony, and a touch of yeast. The taste was very nice: Citrus up front, hay, biscuit, yeast and a touch of cilantro. This is a very clean and refreshing beer...I see summer BBQ written all over this one, and quite frankly this would be a great intro to craft beer.

An ever so slightly hazy gold color, and a decent amount of bubbles mean there is something to watch. Almost no head retention. What's there is puffy and white but dies in less that ten seconds.

The aroma is yeasty and grainy with a hint of lemon. Not much else.

Clean, smooth and on the light side of medium. Some bitter orange and a bit of spice of front. The middle is grainy with a hint of grass and it finishes out refreshing witha yeasty and orange aftertaste.

Nice and refreshing. Easy to drink, but not the greatest Witbier I've ever had.

What a miserable day. Settled in with a Harpoon UFO White on a roommate's recommendation. Perfect day for it, too. At the end of a long week and a crazy weekend, on a miserable, humid Sunday. Sudden cloudbursts, caused no doubt by the government weather control satellites.

Starting with a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Poured hazy yellow, swirled with amber as the unfiltered bits that will soon corrupt my precious fluids settle. A pillowy cream-colored head settles nicely into a thin cap across the entire surface.

I inhale deeply. The alien nanobots rush through my sinuses and directly into my brain. They tell me I'm perceiving a very yeasty, lemony smell, with some grain and just a hint of coriander. If I attempt to perceive anything else, they will turn my blood solid.

The flavor is lemony and wheaty. The only evidence of any hops is a slightly grassy aftertaste. You know, grassy like the knoll you bastards killed JFK from. I'm on to you.

Pleasantly creamy on the tongue, with a fairly high carbonation level. Maybe a bit thin, but an easy drinker overall. I fling my arms to the sky in celebration! You sonsabitches can't touch Duane Barry anymore!

Nothing mind-boggling, but a solid effort. The folks at Harpoon aren't running a skunkworks project with this wit, but it's still mighty nice on a hot, humid day. Bring a few down to Pier 53 at midnight if you want to know the truth...

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by date reads 6/15/11.

A - Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thin white bubbly head that subsides quickly.

S - Smells of citrus, yeast, grain.

T - Sweet flavors of citrusy orange and spiciness start this one off. Finishes with some yeasty and grainy notes. Refreshing and full of flavor. Orange peel and yeast are present in the aftertaste.

M - Light to medium body with a good crispness. Very smooth.

O - It almost feels like a cross between your typical American white with a slight Belgian touch, particularly the spiciness. A perfectly refreshing beer that doesn't sacrifice flavor for drinkablity.

Appearance- Hazy yellow orange color with nice head. The head didn't last very long, but it looked good at the pour.

Smell- Lemon, Wheat, nothing overbearing. Perfectly average aroma (Meant as a compliment)

Taste- Again, perfectly average. Nothing offensive or over bitter. Littly bit of spiciness and some lemon corriander flavors. Very well balanced. Nothing jumps out as great about it, but when I drink this, I want something with nice mild flavor that is easy to drink. This fits the bill perfectly.

Mouthfeel- High carbonation, nice and thirst quenching. Great for this hot Alabama summer day.

Overall- A very solid beer that I love in the summer. I avoid it for the most part of the year, but this was the right day for it... Hot, Humid, and a good mid day beer on a lazy afternoon. This beer is not winning any awards that I would be offering other than when you want a simple, enjoyable beer, this is a good one.

Had this on tap in a pint glass. The color is a nice straw, and served with an orange. Thin white head on top.

Smell is exactly what you would expect from a white ale. A bit of spice and a faint taste of orange.

Very drinkable white ale. Must have run through half of it before I looked back down from the TV screen at bar. The weather is perfect for this white.

Little thin on the mouthfeel, but that's kind of expected. Good carbonation.

Overall, I really liked it. I ordered a second one!

A - Pours a bright golden orange-golden color with a finger of frothy white head. The head reduces down to a ring around the glass leaving some lacing on the bottle.

S - Aroma is full of a mix of some light citrus elements and some wheat. Also some grassy and spicy scents mixed in as well.

T - Starts off with some light lemon and wheat flavors. Through the middle, some spices and some stronger wheat flavors come through. Finishes fruity and a touch spicy with a hit of wheat that lingers for a while.

M - Medium-light bodied with a moderate amount of lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing with a nice clean finish.

D - Very drinkable. Light and refreshing, but the citrus flavor keeps it from being empty. Also makes for a better finish.
