Pott’s Landbier, or “country beer,” is a traditional session lager with a decidedly malty backbone made up of a blend of German and North American malts. The smooth malt character is tempered by the German bittering hop Magnum, which lends a clean, crisp balance. This beer is finished with more German hops for a spicy herbal palate and aroma. Fermented with Pott’s proprietary lager yeast – and imbued with over 240 years of German brewing tradition -- this is just the beer to quench your summer thirst.

Enjoyed at the Colgate Inn this shows a very dark brown color with a nice steady off-white head and solid lacing. The aroma is a lively yeasty wheat and lightly malty. Nothing terribly powerful but pleasing. The flavor comes on with sprite malt with slight citrus edges that leave a tart finish. It's medium-light bodied with solid carbonation for an easy drinking, crisp libation. It's a simple concoction that pleases with basic bright malt that goes down easily. Not highly memorable but decent stuff.

found this buried in the back of my cellar, totally in the dark and on the back of a musty shelf since it was purchased
eyes...
fluffy head on an easy pour, we're talking four fingers of craggy white foam, the color is really interesting, sort of brown but glowing ruby, excellent clarity with lots of tiny bubbles keeping the head upright and frothy (but not crazy like when you first pour it), nearly flawless looking glass of suds here
nose...
spicy and floral in an earthy way, dirty honey, musty grains, nice euro hop aroma, well balanced over all
taste etc...
mild mannered malt forward, this beer is like a nice neighbor, kind of there but you don't care (but they wont boff your wife when you are at work), nice body, nice enough malt flavor, interesting hop character, very smooth drinking... but medium of the road
verdict?
not bad, not great, a solid beer but nothing special
