Because Crosslake is small, very small, and there is a suggestion to limit the number of reviews I had to pick one of two places in this small resort town. In terms of selection this is the less preferable choice, but in terms of service and quality this is the better option.
The other store is just down the road, less than 1/4 mile and it's called Andy's. The selection is really quite good. Lots of regionals and not just Mn and Wi. The problem is they price things like the tourist area it is, so most selections are a few dollars more than elsewhere. Also I've never been too impressed with the folks who work there. Abrasive would be my description.
So, back to Barstock. Less selection, even much less. But a guy can find something. All major Mn regionals are there (Schells, Summit, and Lake Superior) and with current seasonals. Several regionals from elsewhere too (Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado and Oregon) plus a few select imports. Store is new and clean. Help is friendly, not necessarily knowledgable, and not pushy. Prices are fair. I prefer it here.
