Stopped in here to buy a few local beers to bring back home to share with a few friends. A very clean and neat store, the beer section had a great selection of beers from Wicked Weed, Green Man, Hi-Wire, Pisgah, Highland, etc. along with some interesting Belgians and other more easy to get beers. There were some one offs and current releases here which was nice. Prices seem a bit high. I was asked if I found what I was looking for which is nice for a grocery store. Good place to stop to buy some beer.

So short sweet and to the point-The selection is absolutely above average for a grocery store. They have all the locals, all the usual suspects and a whole lot more. Some bombers and 750s, some Belgians, mostly 4 and 6 packs, selection is very good (think some of the better Whole Foods locations.) Where this place really shines for me are the prices. I had just come from Appalachian Vintners (a store I love and consider pretty reasonable for prices), and some of the exact same beers I had just seen were 1 or 2 dollars less on average. So if your looking for quantity over quality (but still a pretty quality selection), this is where I would go to stock up. Just don't expect rare and obscure.

A great place to find that rare brew you've been looking for. The place embodies the spirit of Asheville, with it's organic food selection. It definitely caters to the gourmet, vegetarian, health food nut. The staff are very courteous and friendly also. Definitely a classy place. Though it is rather expensive, that is the price you must pay for rare quality. A great selection of uncommon microbrews and imports. The beer itself is not what is so overly priced, but mostly the organic food ingredients. But overall I must say that it is better by leaps and bounds from your local grocery store.

Service at Earth Fare is very good. All the people here are kind.. if you know what i mean. The majority of the entire massive store is filled with the finest foods and everything organic. Cheeses and select meats are a specialty. Very good selection of beer and sulfite free wine. Picked up Trappist Westmalle, Unibroue 17, Fat Tire, Aventinus, and several more. Great selection of local and national craft beers. Overall the selection was great, no light beers here... This was my first stop for brew in Asheville but definitely not my favorite. Great stop but i must admit a bit pricey.

Too many good places in Asheville thats the problem Earthfare faces. They don't have quite the selection as Greenlife, but it's pretty close. On a good note the prices are really good, and for my dollar it is a better store. It doesn't quite have the madness as Greenlife, but is a little odd to get to and back out of. They have the normal locals, and growlers as you come to expect from Asheville. I haven't been buy when a seasonal just came out so I'm not for sure how there coverage on that is.

Figured on way way back home I should stop in and check out Earthfare. Now I usually do not, as I like Greenlife and figured that they would not have that great of a selection based on the stores in my local area. However I was quite a bit shocked when I walked in. They had a great selection, I would say on par with that of Greenlife. Lots and lots of sixers, Magic hat, flying dog, all the locals, in growlers, lots of Belgians, and some rare one offs, and cheap too. Nice cold singles was as well. Their prices were a bit cheaper then anywhere downtown ta boot. Very easy to park and get in, which is a huge bonus in this town. I was just really pleased to see such a good selection. Overall this was a great store, and their selection was really pretty good and I might actually make this a routine stop for me, as it is very easy to get to and get out of right off of 240. Definatly stop in and check this one out, good quality and selection.

Earth Fare has rearranged and expanded the beer section nowadays. I'm not quite sure when it happened, but the selection has improved, but not enough to go up, and since no one ever even tried to look at me the service goes down a smidge.

Earth Fare is actually pretty easy to get into and out of once you know how. Head West on I-240 and take the Westgate exit. Make a hard right on the exit and you are in the parking lot. Earth Fare is in the corner.

Earth Fare is a store very similar to Whole Foods and might have the best bottled beer selection in Asheville not in a restaurant. The beer aisle is compact so don't expect to find many single bottles. You'll have to pickup a sixer, but the prices are reasonable so it won't bother you too much. They have several of the area regionals and NC micros, they certainly could have more, but they don't have the room.

They have a few Belgians, and some interesting beers from out of state and about 70% of the beer is cold. I didn't see a BMC in sight. The service was actually good this time. Quick, nice, a good deal all around. I'll be back, check it out.

I like to call the place Earth Biscuit, but that is another story...

I had asked for directions while at Greenlife so I didn't have much trouble finding the store other than missing the turn into the parking lot and having to drive through some dealership next door.

Once inside it's your basic organic/alternative grocery store. The beer is off to the left toward the front of the store.

They had everything you'll find at most good groceries in NC including Anderson Valley, Highlands, Victory... etc. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any DogFish Head. They had growlers from French Broad but not any from Pisgah just yet. I had been by Pisgah earlier in the day however and Jason said they were about to close a deal with Earth Fare to start carrying in their stores. There were also the usual suspects as far as Belgians go in another cooler off to the side. Also on the walk out about ten or fifteen feet away were a few more six packs on display but I believe they were mostly AB micro lagers.

Not a bad store but with Greenlife five minutes down the road, I'll pass next time. On a positive note, Earth Fare has an easier much less crowded parking lot.
