I liked this place. It's in a sort of cool area of Louisville that has a lot of restaurants and shoppes and stuff. The bar itself looks like a pretty typical Irish pub. The side tables along the front of the restaurant are cool because the windows open all the way, so when the weather's nice it's a nice addition to have fresh air coming in.

When I went last week, the bar had about a dozen selections on tap and about 100 different things in bottle. A lot of the bottle stuff was expensive belgians, which didn't appeal to me, so I settled for a Southern Tier Pale Ale (which I can't get at home in Indy, so I was happy to have it). I eventually had a Magic Hat #9 on draught as well.

The waitress was very good but overworked, as she was the only person there to wait tables and mind the bar during the day. I liked her a lot though.

The food was good, really good, actually. I had a roast beef sandwich with a nice horseradish sauce on it.

As you can see, it's nothing exotic, but Flanagan's is a good place to have an afternoon lunch. It has a full beer patio as well as sidewalk tables outside, if those are your druthers. I'd recommend this place.

This place is huge. Walking in the front, there were two bars and two seating areas, which was pretty big already. Then you walk back to a patio bar that's just as big as the front area. Then there's the "Red Room" further back with yet another bar and lots more space, including a stage near the back for shows, I guess.

This is a great place to watch a game and that's their main draw. I had a fish sandwich and it was pretty good, nothing spectacular, though. Most of their food was traditional pub fare.

They had around 20 taps or so with typical BMC stuff and mainstream craft. Their bottle list was actually very large, but again, it's mostly mainstream craft. You won't find any hard to find sours or sought after imperial stouts, but they have a pretty wide selection that at least sets it apart from a BMC bar. This is the kind of place your non-craft beer friends will want to go to watch a game, and they'll have something to make you happy, too.

Probably my favorite place in Louisville for great food and even better beer selection. They have a very nice size bottle list with some really good stuff. Lots of founders, Three Floyds, southern Tiers, Rouges, etc. They're always rotating different craft brews on they're taps. Staff is great. Best grilled chicken sandwich in town.

As you walk in, Flanagan's has a similar feel to many of the Irish-style pubs in Louisville; plenty of wood decor, exposed brick and beers to choose from. I sat at a table next to the huge windows giving a view of the street. My first few minutes were a very good impression.

I ordered my food and beer, and the beer was brought over. Fortunately, it was one of my favorites, because that was the only thing set in front of me for half an hour. My server never came to check on if I'd needed anything until then, and it was another 20 minutes for my food. With six other patrons, there was no reason for my food to take over an hour. That was also the last time I saw my server. When I was finished, I waited before I went up to the bar to pay. The barstaff apparently thought I was less important than the other patrons. Altogether, I was there two-and-a-half hours for two beers and food. I find no reason to go back with so many other bars in town with at least as good of selections and far better service.

First of all I have to say I was impressed not just with the beer scene in Louisville, KY but the overall city as well. This is a really cool place to visit.
Nice little Irish Pub with more of a local feel to it. It is located in a cool and kitschy section of town. Lots of pub/bars/and kitschy shops in this section of town. We stopped in for a quick beer as the last pub stop in our whirlwind tour of Louisville. Done in the typical UK / Irish style for a pub with lots of little niches but overall has a more open feel than most. Lots of wood and a horseshoe shaped bar that extends into the two primary rooms. The hallway in the back leads to the restrooms and out into a grotto-like patio area. The big draw here is the decent sized beer selection: 20 or so taps and loads of bottles. Good selection of Belgian / Belgian-style beers with some obscure ones as well. Lots of American Micro / Craft offerings. The staff is very attentive and seem moderately beer knowledgeable.
