I first found out about this place from a friend. I heard it was big, but supposedly it is not only the largest liquor store in Colorado, but the US. At over 46,000 sq. feet, this store puts Total Beverage's 25,000 sq. feet to shame.
The beer selection is absolutely excellent. 64 beer coolers and 62 of them are used for beer. Every single 6-pack that Colorado distributors carry, they have in the store. They also have a big selection of singles bottles. A lot of Belgians, though they won't be able to get any Westvleteren. Large selection from every continent except for Antartica.
I met the beer manager, and he was extremely helpful and nice. He definitely knows his beer. The other staff is also helpful and courteous. When I was checking out, they were commenting on what I bought, and appeared to know what good beer is.
The prices a few of the more available beers aren't as competitive. Certain things like Chimay would be $1 more expensive than the other stores, but for keeping such a huge selection, I don't mind paying the extra. A small quirk I have is just not being able to get certain beers in certain sizes. Somethings they're just have a 4 or 6 pack of 12oz. and somethings they'll have 750ml bottles. They also don't have a build your own six-pack.
So if your living south of Denver, this is the place to go.

A- was like a warehouse. Had rows of wine, scotch and all types of alcohol then along the back wall was tons of collers full of 6 packs singles and bombers of beer. Both Craft and domestic beer
Q- quality looked good. FFound 1 bottle past a "drink by date" buteveything else was good
S- No one tried to help me.. That wasn't good or bad as i didn't need help
Sel- Had a nice big selection of bombers and 6 packs. There were alot of holes missing on the shelves. So i don't know if i came in on the day before they get there shipment in or what. But it looks like they move product pretty regularly.
F-didn't have any
V- Decent prices. Maybe alittle bit on the pricey but not by much
Overall i found almost everything i was looking for at this store.. I was very pleased with the selection and choices. Would go back

I usually stop here when I am in denver as they usually have decent selection and good prices. As the years have gone on, I have noticed a drop in selection, however. It seems they have decreased the amount of old vintages that once made the store, the go to place. I suppose people ended up just buying them out. I have never had a problem with service, but every time I have gone the same beer guy has been right there to help me out. However I have never been given access to the mythical "back cellar". No Credit for beers I can not buy.

While I lived in the area, this was my goto place for beer.
The atmosphere is well, it's built like a warehouse and looks like it on the inside.
The quality of stuff they have is pretty fantastic. Everything from wine, to beer, bourbon, scotch, and even cigars. They have most anything anyone could want.
They age some beers in the basement and will willingly grab anything out of the basement if you ask. You need to know who to talk to as each person is in charge of a different section of the store.
This place has more micros than any other store on the south side of Denver. They have several coolers stocked full of domestic and imported singles that I can not get any where else but here. They have a terrific selection of sixers as well. The best selection in the south Denver area for beer, wine, and many other liquors.

Well I looked online and based on that got excited and made a list of what I was going to get. When I got there they didn't have half of the list so I got a few things and headed out. They weren't overpriced and had some decent sales. Avery 6 packs for 7.99. And great divide ipa packs for 8.99. The guy I asked if they had anything in the back seemed pretty clueless and just kept telling me they must be out of stock right now. When I tried to ring up I had to wait and then take a guy to the shelf who accused me of getting stuff out of a 6 pack when I already said I hadn't. Then I had to take him over and show him where they had the singles and the one I selected. I won't be going back, I'm sure I can find just the same selection at the same price if not better and much better service someplace else

This is an enormous store. I would have spent a lot of money here if it hadn't been the 5th or 6th store I visited. The prices are reasonable to slightly higher and the service was not existent. Lots of beer coolers... unsure if there was much for singles but just about everything you could want was here. Didn't know about stock in the back... that would have been nice to know as there was some high end stuff, but not what I expected for a store this size. Comparable to the other big store I visited in Thornton, but maybe slightly better. Another must stop in Denver for the beer shopper.

I went down to Davidson's from Denver the other night to check out the mega-super-ultra-warehouse and it was pretty good.
Q: They have a lot of good brews here, a lot, but for the size of the store, that's not really a surprise. Lots and lots and lots of cooler doors filled with every import and domestic craft that has Colorado distribution ... every one. Saw a number of J.W. Lees vintagas out on the floor, as well as half a case of Older Viscosity 2010, 2 varients from the Widmer Bros single serve series (BRRBON and Prickly Pear), and a whole bunch more. What's lacking here for the size of the store is actual rarity. Outside of the Older Viscosity and the Widmer Bros reserve I've seen everything that is "rare" still sitting on shelves at Argonaut or Colorado Liquor Mart, which are both smaller stores with smaller beer selections. None of the Avery barrel aged series beers, nothing out of Deschutes outside of Mirror Mirror 2009, no XXX Warlock or similar rarity Bristol releases, no BA Great Divide, etc. Just nothing that I couldn't find down the street in Denver in a large format.
S: Non-existant. We dropped nearly $200 at this store and no-one so much as asked us if we needed help finding anything. This gets me to the point on quality/selection. I've heard there is a great cellar in this place with lots of the stuff I was actually looking for. Unfortunately, nobody so much as batted an eye at us while we were pulling multiples of some of the most expensive bottles in the store.
S: As I stated in the quality section, Davidson's gets points for being exhaustive. Their 6-pack and small format selection is particularly striking, and I'm convinced that they pretty literally have everything that gets distributed to Colorado, period. But again, for a store this size, with a warehouse facility like they have, I expect true greatness. They have the space and operational ability to sit on some truly amazing bottles that smaller stores couldn't hold, and it's those bottles that I want. Admittedly they might have these bottles in a basement somewhere, but unfortunately I didn't see them, wasn't offered them, and no salesperson invited us to look for them. I have had opposite experiences at many other bottle shops. Beer guy sees you pulling ridiculous bombers that no one touches, asks you what you like, and then all of a sudden you're being shown the walk-in/cellar/etc where the good stuff is. No such luck at Davidson's.

This is a great store! Huge selection, very clean, a must stop every time I go to Colorado. They have lots of hard to find and vintage beers which I like. We had a list when we went in, we gave a few items at a time to the employee who was helping us and then he would disappear into the cooler and then return with the beer and to get the next few items from the list. Our purchase was large, over $500, so they opened two registers to ring everything up without inconveniencing their other customers. As we walked out they thanked us for visiting the great state of Colorado and asked us to come back soon.

This place has a great selection, but the guys who work there are notorious for hiding specialty beers in the back and don't allow the public access. You can ask and they will get you what you want by request if the item is in stock, but you will wait about 45 mins. to find someone to help you. THe last time I was in there I wondered the beer aisle for 30 min. not finiding what I was looking for. Walked up to the registers to see if the cashier could check the stock, the had the Avery Black tot in stock and it took another 10 min for a beer guy to show up after being called by the PA, and another 10 min will waited for him to find it in the back. I don't know who these guys think they are, but there is something called customer service!
