Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a crystal clear, pale, orange-brown coloring, with a filmy, low profile, white head. Nose of pumpkin spice, rich pumpkin sweetness, roasted and bready notes, and some subtle crème highlights. Flavors are smooth and sweet, with rich pumpkin and crème forward, followed by subtle spice blends of cinnamon and nutmeg. Balanced and smooth, on a light, creamy body. Subtle spice linger on a smooth, clean finish. Very drinkable, balanced brew.

pours a clear autumn orange with a bright head an inch or so thick. the nose is fantastic, pumpkin for sure, not heavy on the spice but a cinnamon, clove aroma is present. maybe even a hint of vanilla in the nose as well, is this beer barrel aged? taste is great too, with more of the pumpkin flavors coming through all earthy and robust. an alcohol finish in this one makes me curious about its abv. my complaint here is the mouthfeel, its so thin that it doesnt match the complex flavor and aromatic profiles. disappointing in that way, but still a damn fine pumpkin brew, ever better as it warms up

I admit it - I have a soft spot for pumpkin beers. I even tend to like the overspiced ones, but I truly appreciate when one doesn't have to go overboard with allspice and cloves.
Arrives a standard bright Halloween orange with a surprisingly robust head. Most tend to be dead flat, but this one isn't. The foam decreases as you work your way down, but it has probably the best texture and lacing I've seen (with the possible exception of the DFH).
Allspice and cinnamon are the focuses, but there's a definite roastiness in there as well. It can't help but take a backseat, but it's there.
Standard allspice, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg notes - but they're not numbing or overkill like most pumpkin brews or even like some older versions of this beer from the 'Koop. There's some obvious maltiness (similar to Railyard) and roasted notes that I believe are coming from the pumpkins themselves. It's a little like the DFH, only milder and more drinkable due to the lighter body.
My pint of this disappeared faster than expected and I was really pretty pleased overall. One of the best pumpkin brews I've had recently, and a definite step-up over the same beer in previous years.
It might be the best one in the area and one of the better examples I've had, period.

A: Pours a nice bold pumpkin ornange hue with an average sized head.

S: Like you typical pumpkin ale, hints of canned pumpkin with some pumpkin pie spices.

T: Not too bad, one of the better pumpkin beers in my opinion. What I liked about this one is the pumpkin flavors. Up front you get nice pumpkin flavors like found in the DFH pumpkin brew. Next comes the spice, your typical pumpkin pie spices but not too bold or overthetop. It finishes with a bit of sweetness which seems to linger. The best of the Wynkoop beers I tried.

M: Medium in body, good in the carbonation department.

D: Pretty drinkable. Not the best pumpkin ale around but more tasty/drinkable than most.
