12 oz can. Pours ruby amber with a medium pillowy off-white head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is a little subdued - sweet malts, piney resiny hops and some alcohol.

The flavor is sweet caramel and toffee malts and some fruit with a big grassy resiny (almost tarry) bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a decent imperial red. I like G'Knight and some of Lagunitas' offerings better.

Appearance - burnt red caramel with a nice think head poured out of a can leaving great lacing on the glass.

Smell - nice rich caramel up front with some bittering hops at the tail end

Taste - while it is a double, just not as balanced as I would have hoped. Lots of bitterness ends the flavor with little to no caramel.

Mouthfeel - you can taste the strength of the beer for sure and it leaves your mouth quite piney.

Overall - not a horrible beer, but I was hoping for a lot more after the sight and smell. Fun that it is in a can though.

Served cold from can to goblet.

Colorojo is a redish brown ale with considerable haze. The head is not especially thick nor long lasting. A little bit of spoty lace is left behind.

Aroma is more sweet and malty than hoppy but it has some nice fruitiness. A bit like a barleywine.

Flavor is also more malty than hoppy but that shouldn't come as a surprise. It's an imperial red. No IPA in the name. Rich, sweet, and fairly well balanced.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated.

Overall a solid beer but the imperial label might be a tad inappropriate. It is big but maybe not enough to warrant the name imperial.

Thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a pretty, rich amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of hops, caramel malts. Taste is a bit hoppy, some malts, a bit of caramel, considerable bitterness, alcohol is well hidden. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good quality beer.

Can shared by the head brewer at Roc Brewing Co, on location.

Pours a deep copper red, with 2 inches of head, and a little bit of lacing down the glass.

Smells vaguely hoppy, with some pine, some grapefruit, some orange, some grass, maybe, and a little bit of toasted bread.

The taste reveals a possible infection. The aforementioned hop flavors are there, but there's thi s interesting funky twang, almost lactic, at the end of each sip that is probably not intended. The person who shared this with us said when he last had this beer a few months ago, it did not have that taste. Seems like some bugs got in here.

Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel, low carbonation.

The infection is not all that detrimental to this beer, but I would've liked to try it as intended.

The Old Lady and I are splitsville, but not before she enticed me to come out and visit her in CANorado. She was a great hostess, but I was not out there for hospitality. I was heartbroken when she kissed me goodbye before I boarded the train as I knew that it was truly goodbye and a farewell to yet another beauty.

From the CAN: "Wynkoop's Even Smaller Batch Series"; "A bodacious, sticky, double red with luscious caramel and malt notes and deep layers of hops."

The Crack caused a little splash of foam to spray across my fingertips. I was using my CAN glass and so I used an inverted Glug to get things started without having to worry too much about overflow. The result was three fingers of dense, deep-tan head with great retention. Color was a deep-copper (SRM = > 22, < 27) with NE-quality clarity and garnet highlights. Nose was, ahem, dank, which is what they seem to have meant by "sticky". Piney, resinous, wow. Mouthfeel was big, thick, dense and the flavors of caramel and pine were deeply intertwined. Double wow. This may have been a small batch, but there was nothing small about this beer. I would have said that it was too sweet for my taste if it had not been for the hops just attacking my poor, aching tongue. Man, this would not be a beer for the weak or faint of heart. Finish was semi-dry with the hops definitely lingering, but only after a wash of caramel malt. Phew!
