Went in around 4:00 with a big party incuding kids. Got a table upstairs which was good. Kids and adults were able to play pool, skee ball and bubble hockey. They had a cask condition ESB that was very good. Ordered the margarita/chilli beer specialty drink as a change of pace, it was not the best drink I ordered. I asked for a couple of other beers off the chalk board, both times the waitress came back and said they had just run out. They were also out of the Rocky Mountain Oyster Sout, a little dissapointing. Settled on a sour beer with merlot which was pretty good. I can see this place being busy at night, especially before a ball game.

First stop in Denver on a recent trip. The history of being Colorado’s first brewpub and having the current Colorado Governor as one of the founders is appealing. There’s plenty of space inside. It isn't the most luxurious place, but it is right downtown and close to where the Rockies play. The beers are fair, but nothing truly outstanding. The Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout (the beer brewed with roasted bull testicles) is a fun novelty to tell your friends about.

Tried this place yesterday afternoon. It was good, & I will go again. However I was not overly impressed.

The beers were good, the milk stout was great. I tried their Patty's Chili beer. I was found it quite bland until the chili aftertaste kicked in. Then it was just unpleasant. I am quite glad I sampled it rather than ordering a pint. The other beers I sampled, a weis, & the Railhead ale were exceptionally good. The Milk stout ( Cowtown) was outstanding. As good as any I have ever had. It alone warrants a return trip.

I did not eat , but the food looked good, the menu seemed standard for this type of place.

The service was not good. It was not bad. It was somewhat inattentive, & slow. They PUSHED food & lost interest after we ordered beers. There were 4 bartenders behind the bar, they were clustered together talking. It took 10 mins to pay my tab, 8 of it trying to flag someone down. The place was far from slammed. Moreover, the barmen were a bit surly. Denver is a very friendly town. They were not. In New York they would have been a bit curt. In Denver, they were downright rude. I was with my uncle, the two girls next to us were getting drinks @ light speed. Very interesting.

All that said, I will go back. it is worth the trip.

This was my first stop on the Denver trip in August. Located in what they call LoDo, its an all brick building, much like everything in this part of town. I liked the motif, plus this place is huge. Comedy club downstairs, big open brewery area and big ass bar on the main floor, then upstairs is a pool hall. Kind of reminiscient of Phantom Canyon in Colorado Springs (elrogish got married there, cool party). The coolest thing is the downstairs bathrooms look like the cover of the Kanye & Jay Z album about the throne or whatever it was called.

Beers are good, slightly above average. They don't make any one thing that is world class, but they don't make anything less than average, so its a win. Bummed I was a little too early for the Rocky Mountain Oyster stout. The lack of mixing and matching or substituting beers you want for flights was a little weird, but nonetheless, I found one I liked, the one that included the wine barrel sour beer was what I went with. I like that they can a lot of their stuff, Silverback pale is a good tailgate kind of beer.

I think this place offers a lot if you're with a crowd that isn't big on beer necessarily, a good evening out, shoot some pool, drink some beer, catch a comedy act. I'd go again.

Met a friend and we sat at the bar on a mid-week day, so not real crowded which was good.

Wait staff was very attentive in a good way. Got us our beers and rolled back at the right time when we were ready for another. Lots of nice options in terms of beer, given the season stayed with the darker beers, stout was very good.

I had the jambalaya which was very good. Being a baby boomer the music was great. Nice mellow atmosphere on a cold and snowy weekday.

Beers were very good, nice depth to them.

We walked up the steps and sat at the huge bar that seats about 40 people. Outside patio open in warmer months overlooking the train station, hightop around the bar, more tables to the right and probably more upstairs and a club/dance room downstairs near the bathroom. They even have pool tables upstairs from what the sign says. Also, don't forget to give a fist pump to the actual size metal gorilla on the way out.

The quality of the beer and food was good. Brian was our bartender again. He waited on us last year when we were in town for the Sox. I got a Mile HIPA and Slegehammeren barleywine. Both were good and refreshingly delicious. We also got make your own nachos plate and buffalo wings.

They make all their beer downstairs and soon they will be able to can more beers by combining forces with another local Denver brewery. Hopefully soon, we will actually be able to find their beer over here in Boston. Other than that I noticed they have a full bar also, and they also do growlers, logs, and half barrels.

Our service was really good. We were able to score some single cans to throw in our suitcase on the way back to Boston. Cans and all the others beer in my suitcase made it. The selection of beers was good also. They had 12 or so on draft and three on cask. We just wish we weren't so full to try out the chili beer and their award winning Black 3K schwarzbier.

We will be hitting this place up next time we are in Denver. A must for all travelers passing through.

Have frequented this place over the years on ski trips and most recently for GABF, but never reviewed it before somehow. Anyway, a brewpub that hosts the Beer Drinker of the Year competition more than deserves a few words of praise. The Wynkoop is less a destination and more an institution of the Denver beer scene. They remain committed to quality beer, good food & an overall great experience while drinking oneself through the LoDo area. The fact that they are canning some of their beers speaks to their willingness to join the more forward thinking CO breweries such as Oskar Blues and Ska in the endeavor of providing more mobile outdoor based devotees an option for enjoying their beers in the backcountry/high country. The decor and vibe haven't changed an iota since I first went there over a decade ago. The basement theater and upstairs gaming areas remain both popular and unique. The chile beer continues to be one of my favorites as well as the Mile HIPA which I hadn't had until this trip. Great service, a laid back atmosphere, and excellent beer remain staples of this truly great brewpub.

This was our first stop on our "beercation." As soon as we landed we were off to Wynkoop. This place was pretty hyped up, and while it didn't disappoint, I really only found it to be slightly above average. Definitely some delicious brews and food...they were out of a few things but I did try everything they had on tap. Service was good...a little spotty a couple times but considering how busy this place was, I felt pretty impressed.

Atmosphere was nice. Large, open bar...while there was a game on, no one was being obnoxious about it. I wish I could have tried more of their beer...it's always a bummer when something kicks but if I am ever in the area again, I will head back to Wynkoop. Recommended for sure if you are in Denver!

First trip back to Denver in almost 20 years and this place was definitely on my hit list while here. Had to cram in a lot on the first day with the snow storm hitting Denver today.

Atmosphere was the same I remembered from 2 decades ago. Very spacious, but still intimate with large wooden booths and small outside patio seating. Large bar with 11 taps. Doing a brisk business for lunch on a Tuesday.

Service was prompt and appropriately attentive. Server new the product and was able to answer questions about the beers and food choices.

Selection was very nice with a pale, ipa, double ipa, black lager, and pumkin beer. Other choices included lighter fare, a porter and a stout. A little something for everyone.

The menu is relatively extensive and our choices were well prepared and presented. My companion had the trout entree and it was enormous.

Glad to see my memory of the place was still accurate. I'll be back again - hopefully in a lot less than 20 years.

Visited Wynkoop while on vacation in the Denver area. The bar area is where I sat and tried their sampler. There were many types of beer with a nice large sampler to try. The quality was good overall with a few very good beers and a few mediocore ones with a couple that really stood out (Mile High IPA and Belgardo). The area that the brewery is in seems decent but it was really busy and tough to find parking that you didnt have to pay for. The staff was attentive and knowledgable about their beers. We ordered desert since we had already eaten and it was very good.
