I had been meaning to try Wynkoop's beer for a while now and decided to stop in for lunch today.

It's a huge place with three levels. The main level, that you enter from the street, had a large bar, several TVs and many tables and booths. Upstairs, there are a bunch of pool tables and another big bar. I didn't get a chance to visit the downstairs area.

About 12 beers on tap all brewed by Wynkoop. So many to choose from, I decided to have a few tasters which run $1 a piece.

Service at the bar was very good. Prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, my bartender made recommendations and accurately described the beers I tried.

Food was good too. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich on thick buttered bread. It came out superfast and tasted fresh.

Overall, I nice place to have a sandwich and try some beers.

Cool spot in one of the old downtown areas of Denver. Parking is a bit of a bitch, depending on when you visit, but it's a great area to walk through, weather permitting. Multi-leveled building, with bar area to the right of the entrance, and seating to the left. Bathrooms are downstairs, where there is also some vintage furniture, barrels, and you can spy on the brewing equipment. Outdoor seating overlooking the adjacent street, too, which is great when the weather is nice. Bartenders were friendly and prompt. There were about 10 beers on tap when we were there, I believe, as well as a nitro tap. Beer to go in growlers. Full gastropub menu, although we didn't eat, so I can't really comment on that. Definitely worth a stop on your Denver travels.

Wynkoop has done some really good beers over the years, but sometimes when I go over there, I just see the usual and not anything new that is of interest to me. Good thing they have a few longstanding favorites. They might be able to do some new ones with the expansion that is coming soon, so I'm looking forward to another visit down the road.
