This is an average place. I went there on the same day that Bill Clinton was down a few blocks doing a book signing, so the bar was really busy, and only one person was working.

The bar was this really elongated hexagon which looks cool, but a real pain to serve. The service was really bad because of the unusually large amount of people. The wait was long for everything, but at least the waitress knew that the wait was long and I got 2 pints for free.

The food is your regular pub fair, good, but nothing special. The decor gave it a good old-fashioned feel. The beer selection was really big, with over a dozen, and even a non-alcoholic root beer. The beers themselves were fair-good. It won't be on the top of my list to revisit.

Cool spot in one of the old downtown areas of Denver. Parking is a bit of a bitch, depending on when you visit, but it's a great area to walk through, weather permitting. Multi-leveled building, with bar area to the right of the entrance, and seating to the left. Bathrooms are downstairs, where there is also some vintage furniture, barrels, and you can spy on the brewing equipment. Outdoor seating overlooking the adjacent street, too, which is great when the weather is nice. Bartenders were friendly and prompt. There were about 10 beers on tap when we were there, I believe, as well as a nitro tap. Beer to go in growlers. Full gastropub menu, although we didn't eat, so I can't really comment on that. Definitely worth a stop on your Denver travels.

Wynkoop has done some really good beers over the years, but sometimes when I go over there, I just see the usual and not anything new that is of interest to me. Good thing they have a few longstanding favorites. They might be able to do some new ones with the expansion that is coming soon, so I'm looking forward to another visit down the road.
