Tap pour at the brewery. Served on nitro in a pint glass.
Black colored body. Three finger nitro tan head. Leaves behind sheets of lacing.
Toasty, roasted aroma of caramel malts.
Taste is roasted caramel malts, with a touch of dark fruit.
Thinner mouth feel but smooth and creamy. Good carbonation.
Solid for style, tasty and smooth.

Sampled last night on 3/15/15 while grilling on the upper patio deck. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a snifter glass.
Brew pours a very deep mahogany in color with about a half finger foamy beige head. A decent amount of lacing is seen when sipped. The aroma is of dark roasted malts with a hint of cocoa powder. The taste has a bit more going on as there is some biscuit also. Easy to drink with no harsh or bitter aftertaste. Slightly less bodied than other porters but tasty. Lighter to medium-bodied with perfect carbonation. Overall it was decent.

A hopped up Porter. Nothing special, but follows the overall hoppiness of Rush River beers.

Pours brilliant dark brown under a 2” finely bubbled, lightly tan tinted white head that produces good lace. You can see ruby highlights when holding the beer up to a bright light. Dark grain aromas greet the nose with some spice and a hint of cocoa. There are no dark roast or burnt aromas. A very creamy palate features a very mild roastiness, a mild nuttiness with some biscuit, mild chocolate and grainy malt. Just enough hop bitterness balances the malt sugars and gives the beer a light bitter chocolate flavor but there are no big burnt or hop flavors. Medium body with above average carbonation. Sessionable.
