This was on Tap at the Happy Gnome. I gave it a shot and was not so impressed. Its pour was a very pale copper hue with a white sticky head. The most impressive part of this beer was the aroma. A nice use of nobel hops in this beer. Naturally its hoppy but the hoppy scents are oily with hints of citruis, fruit, mild malt sweetness, and more fruit.
After the pleasant scent you are somewhat let down with the flavor. While the beer has a nice boquet of hops it fails to keep you interested. The hop character is not there as much as you would expect in an IPA. It tastes of oily hops with a quick dry finish, there are hints of fruit and malty sweetness. This beer in my opinion falls into the category of just another IPA. There are a lot of IPA's out there and this IPA is not one of the more notable ones.

Something is not to my liking here.
Smell is faintly hoppy, but doesn't ANNOUNCE pale ale.
Taste is where I have problems -- hops taste like celery seed or something vegetal. Light malt sweetness.
It feels like there is something a little oily in there that becomes thin and astringent in the finish.
