I was a little disappointed after reading all the reviews. It's a cool beer bar for sure, nice patio as well. The service wasn't good at all. Their "cellar" list hasn't been updated since 9/15. Still a cool place to stop in Denver but nothing mind blowing b

Horrible experience. Quintessential try too hard beer hipsters. Beyond cliche. The Jonestown of beer bars.

Stopped by on my drive back to Kansas City and almost had to stay the night. Was able to get Pliny the Elder on tap among other beers I don't see back home. Very nice and helpful staff, great environment.

Right when we were about to leave they were passing out menus for a stout festival - one of the several festivals they were having around that time - and saw lots of stouts that I've always wanted to try. Unfortunately I had to make that entire drive back to KC so I couldn't stick around.

I plan on coming back here any time I'm around Denver. I've suggested this place to friends and coworkers that are much more knowledgeable about beer and they absolutely loved it.

Lately I've been steering clear of establishments that are understood to be institutions. Not that they're bad--quite the opposite, actually. You have to be good to become an institution. But these place tend to be busy, sometimes even replete with parking lot flaggers and hours-long waits. And while all that business is great for them, it makes it hard to really sink into the place. There's no intimacy. Size necessarily cheapens friendliness, and immense success erases much of the need to cultivate relationships with customers.

I stopped by Falling Rock in the mid afternoon on a Tuesday, so many of these concerns were moot. Still, the vibe was exceptional; erudite yet approachable, immense yet accessible.

The bar is super long. There's about 20 or so consistent taps and then another dozen rotators that follow a monthly gimmick (February is BA barley wines). Out of the 30+ plus taps, maybe half were rare or rare-ish, and several were downright hard to find, including aged BCBS Barleywine, several vintages of Dry Dock's Bligh's, one offs from CO and CA brewers, and Pliney the friggin' Elder, just sitting there like it's no huge deal.

The dining area is immense. There's the long, elevated bar, an expansive upstairs area with booths and high tops, and then an equally large downstairs with pool tables and other games.

The decor is pretty old school: woody, nicely lit, and a selection of beer signs rivaled only by the National Brewania Museum in Potosi, WI. The decor doesn't seem at all centrally planned--at no point did someone say "this is how this place is gonna look." I'm sure they adjust it afew months, and even the basement was as clean as could be, but overall it's got a spontaneous feel to it, an aesthetic ethos that avoids all senses of fakeness or pretense but is still well cultivated. And that pretty much sums up the place as a whole.

Oh--I almost forgot the best part! This place is literally a block away from Coors Field! I'm sure it gets crazy busy during games, and that will mitigate much of vibe (as it would literally anywhere), but this is easily the best ballpark bar I've ever seen.

Went there for the Pliny The Younger tapping. Everything was well organized. There was a good selection of beer, and everything was priced reasonably. Had the hummus plate and the chile cheese fries, both were very good.

I don't know how it gets much better than this place. Great pub vibe, lots of TVs, I've always experienced great service and the selection is outstanding. A pleasant surprise is the food is pretty good as well.
