Review from notes taken in Austin TX in either 2014 or 2015.

Cost was $8 per 9 oz pour on-draught at Black Star Coop.

5% ABV.

HEAD: None whatsoever. No lacing.

BODY: Translucent transparent clear golden honey colour of good vibrance. Clean, lacking visible yeast/lees or hop sediment.

Appears undercarbonated. Looks good for a sour, and I dig the body colour.

AROMA: Tart fruit, white wine, oak, neutral Belgian pale malt/blonde malt, clean 2-row barley, juicy fruit skin, mild (4-5/10) sourness. Faint honey.

It's a refined crisp aroma suggestive of apple skin and subtle spice. Mild aromatic intensity.

No obvious off-notes or booze.

TASTE: Sea salt, lime apple skin, tart fruitiness, juicy fruit, neutral Belgian pale malt/blonde malt, ample fruity sweetness, persimmon, and mild sourness (coming in at about a 4/10 in terms of intensity).

Has some fruity bready characteristics and some pleasant floral and tropical hop flavours.

Well-balanced if not quite dialed in. Well built with an enjoyably fruit-emphatic taste. Honey malt fills it out nicely.

Admittedly, it could be more intricate, but it does boast some impressive subtlety particularly in terms of the integration of the lime. Boasts above average depth of flavour.

Average duration and intensity of flavour. I quite like it.

TEXTURE: Tart, lightly smacky, crisp, and juicy. Almost cidery (but fortunately it doesn't cross the line). Light-bodied but still fairly thick in keeping with the honeyed vibe of the beer. Clean and lightly sour without ever coming off too acidic. Refreshing and approachable.

A great companion to the taste, harmonizing well with the beer's flavours.

OVERALL: Another good sour from Jolly Pumpkin, but its high pricetag will prevent me from getting it as frequently as I'd like. It's incredibly drinkable refreshing fare. A worthwhile addition to Jolly Pumpkin's already stellar lineup. Well worth trying, and a beer I'd recommend to any sour enthusiast.

Appearance - The beer poured a clear golden color with a white head.

Smell - The nose is more of a floral sour than a fruity sour.

Taste - My initial reaction is to think this is a pretty weak sour. It seems like watered down squirt with a little more sour. There is an oaky presence at the end.

Mouthfeel - The carb is fairly weak. The beer goes down like the average lager.

Overall - In the battle of collabs, Upland wins handily.

Slightly hazy golden pour with an airy white one-finger head. Nice slightly sour and tropical fruit aroma. Initial taste has a fruity tartness. Can also taste a bit of oak and funk. Tartness increases as the beer warms resulting in a very tart and juicy finish.

A - Golden, hazy cast, small head, touches of lacing.

S - Sour fruit juice and tropicality, acidity, a bit of minerality.

T - Bright, with acidity, slightly sweet hint of apple and grapes, definite hit of oak and woodiness, limestone, and a bit of funky with sour line in the close.

M - Sour, mildly puckering, slightly slick.

O - This is remarkably restrained, tightly constructed, with bright fruit notes. Quite solid.
