2010 bottle, enjoyed on 11/9/12, poured into a HF stem.
Pour: Immediately starts gushing to the extreme, and continues for a minute or so after opening. Pours a hazy golden yellow, with a towering four finger fluffy white head. Head sticks around for most of the glass, and leaves nice thick lacing.
Smell: Belgian yeast up front, which provides a nice bready and spicy nose. A slight funk, but not much. Some tart lemon juice in there, but still not as strong as the belgian yeast components.
Taste: Follows the nose very well, with really great spicy yeast, white pepper, and coriander. Some biscuity malt sweetness, and a light tart lemon bite follow. Finishes dry, with a nice oaky barrel presence.
Mouthfeel: Not exceptionally drinkable, but very refreshing. Medium bodied.
Overall: Another great Jolly Pumpkin beer. I always over look them, and I need to stop, because I have yet to be disappointed by any of their beer.

Appearance: Golden yellow, with a touch of haze and very little head.
Aroma: Grainy aroma with a bit of lemon and spice.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Slightly sour lemon flavor initially, with a bit of peppery heat following. Finishes with cereal grains and uncooked pasta flavors, and has a bit of buttery character as well. Some yeasty funk throughout.
Final Word: An interesting drink, but not one that I must have again. My favorite part of the brew was the peppery character, which kept the profile lively and interesting, as the other characteristics, like the tart lemon and yeast, didn’t present anything out of the ordinary. Certainly good, and always worth trying, but I would seek out other Jolly Pumpkin brews first if you are having trouble choosing.
