Pours a beautiful glowing golden color, crazy-dense foamy off-white head, like a vanilla frappe sitting up on top of the beer, giant & thick clumps of foam sticking to the glass....this is seriously impressive in the glass. Smells peppery, some pear notes, some earthiness. Lots of juicy granny smith apple in the taste, more pear, light pepper, some tartness. Very drying & refreshing, a very faint bitterness on the extreme back-end, really actively carbonated. Love this.

Appearance: Golden yellow, with a touch of haze and very little head.
Aroma: Grainy aroma with a bit of lemon and spice.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Slightly sour lemon flavor initially, with a bit of peppery heat following. Finishes with cereal grains and uncooked pasta flavors, and has a bit of buttery character as well. Some yeasty funk throughout.
Final Word: An interesting drink, but not one that I must have again. My favorite part of the brew was the peppery character, which kept the profile lively and interesting, as the other characteristics, like the tart lemon and yeast, didn’t present anything out of the ordinary. Certainly good, and always worth trying, but I would seek out other Jolly Pumpkin brews first if you are having trouble choosing.
