Served in a globe.
Pours a yellow-golden body with a modest layering of white bubbly foam. Leaves a slight yet noticeable amount of lacing.
The grains and yeast provide a nice sour and funky aroma. This just smells exciting.
There's a lot going on with the flavor, too much for me to understand. Sour fruits with caramel abound, followed by a little pepper and hop on the tail end. This is good.
Perfect level of carbonation allows all the complexities to come through.
This is really tasty. Really really tasty.

Appearance: Golden yellow, with a touch of haze and very little head.
Aroma: Grainy aroma with a bit of lemon and spice.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Slightly sour lemon flavor initially, with a bit of peppery heat following. Finishes with cereal grains and uncooked pasta flavors, and has a bit of buttery character as well. Some yeasty funk throughout.
Final Word: An interesting drink, but not one that I must have again. My favorite part of the brew was the peppery character, which kept the profile lively and interesting, as the other characteristics, like the tart lemon and yeast, didn’t present anything out of the ordinary. Certainly good, and always worth trying, but I would seek out other Jolly Pumpkin brews first if you are having trouble choosing.
