poured into a snifter. $9.99 for 750 mL bottle (bottle conditioned). "blend 10, 2008" sticker on the back of the bottle.

a-pours a cloudy reddish/brown/light copper with a finger of white head, and a thin sheet of the hazey head covers the top throughout. great head retention and lacing that coats the glass as the amber liquid slides around.

s- right off the bat i get a vinegar smell that's not overpowering but I can almost taste it. past the vinegar there's apple cider and cherries, with some floral hints and maybe some honey.

t- it's tart. It tastes like acidic apple cider and tart cherries sprinkled with balsamic vinegar. has a bit of a wine-y quality. it's barrel aged, and the woodiness is balanced and almost subtle...it comes out only after a few sips and it lingers for a moment. great tasting beer.

m- it's very carbonated with a medium body. i'm not complaining though...i don't think I'd enjoy it as much otherwise. the alcohol is undetectable.

o- this is my first american wild ale. and it's also my first jolly pumpkin beer. i enjoyed it very much. i don't think it's much of a sipper as some note, as it's super drinkable and delicious. i would buy again.

Soft subtle sourness with an obvious wild funk added in. Soft viscous feel, never too syrupy and almost finishes dry. Aftertaste leaves something to be desired....

A-burgundy to slight amber color with a nice light tan head and some lacing

S-tart cherries, earthy oak, funk, light caramel and vinegar

T-tart cherries, vinous, oak, caramel, earthy, yeast funk, light malt, little vanilla

F-medium body with moderate carbonation, crisp and slightly dry
