Nice hiss from the 250ml bottle, surprised this isn't a caged&corked bottle actually.
Pours a very hazy amber, with an offwhite stiff foam.
Aroma is phenomenal. Reminds me of fall on this rather cool August evening. A nice vinegary sourness and some tart cider apple. Crisp tart fruit wraps up the aroma. So complex and unique.
Taste is rich malty sweet hiding behind a bright upfront wall of tartness and brett barnyard. Finish is very smooth and my mouth salivates immediately after each sip. A slight tropical note in there too, with some honeycomb sweetness in the finish. It's nice and dry, with a light spicing of corriander, clove, and allspice/pumpkin.
I can see where the chestnuts might be present, but can't pick them out in the taste or aroma, its just too complex a beer. Maybe i'm just looking for a nut brown type of nuttiness and just missing the chestnut subtly. This is meant to be a compliment not a complaint.
It's got vigorous carbonation present. Not sure what foods i'd pair it with, but it's strong enough to hold up to anything. I love it as a sipper and at this low of an abv, this 250ml will be gone in no time at all!!! Love it.
